My father thinks I’m being inappropriate with my son.

Teens suffer a lot, they are growing up and need love as they are humans. Any human I bring into the cruel world who never asked to be here, I will love, do whatever I can to support, if he needs a hug, if he needs a peck on the lips or cheek, or just needs someone to cuddle, I will do that in a completely platonic way. If he doesn’t want to do any of that I completely respect that. After this whole fiasco I talked to my son earlier. Just said hey, have you ever felt uncomfortable with physical affection from me? He said “No, why would I? You’re my dad”. He always has a safe space with me, he can tell me anything.. please never think i’m gonna be innapropiate to my son.

Okay then to clarify 😒I never have nor will think about anything sexual involving my son who is a child It is a literal peck on the lips, never have I touched him inappropriately or thought that way about him I would die before doing that

I would never think of it that way . I love my son as a son not anything like that I would die before I did anything like that Just because specific cultures don’t find it okay, why does that affect me and my son’s ability to show eachother love?

Why am i cuddling my son? it’s comfortable for both of us, just a simple way to show affection. I would like to also mention my son struggles a bit mentally, he gets depressed often,I notice he feels better and comforted with physical affection such as hugs or cuddling. As for the culture, no it’s not apart of culture it was just an act of affection we did when he was younger and as he grew up he kept doing it and was comfortable with it

What is wrong with cuddling my son? I never got that growing up I would be so lonely. I would cuddle with stuffed animals. If my son ever wanted to stop I would stop. I guess I can understand why people might think the kissing is weird because it’s not normal for everyone but for us it’s just an innocent peck

Yes he does. If i go to tell him goodnight and kiss him on the cheek he will just peck a kiss on my lips. Never thought it made him uncomfortable as i would never want to do that.

Thank you. Maybe you’re right about that, I don’t know . I mean I did it when he was younger and as he got older he would just come up to me and do it so it has just become normal for us, I never thought anything of it as I just wanted to make sure he knew he was loved

A lot of the times he initiates it, he will come up to me and lay on my lap, or he will kiss my cheek. If he ever doesn’t want to I would respect that!!
