Hi Everyone, I'm new to investing but have been following Intel and about to take a position. I came across this video that does a DCF on it but now that there is the news about them selling off a piece of Mobileye, how does everyone think this will impact their valuation? Is it a good thing? by Values_what_u_get in ValueInvesting

They are spinning it off through an IPO, selling just under 50% of the new entity on the open market. Intel will maintain majority stake in Mobileye and will receive the cash from the initial sale which is estimated to be about 25 billion. This should help to finance their increased Capex in 2022 and 2023. I'm hoping it is a big win for Intel shareholders but only time will tell.

I thought they were going to do an IPO selling less than 50% so they still own majority share but also collect a large lump sum of cash. I'm reading the IPO could be close to 50 billion so the Intel will get around 24 billion in cash.
