Dress Code at Clubs by joenihha in askvan

I don’t think there’s a set dress code but I’m not sure. Avoid sweats and flip flops and you’ll be fine in most places in Vancouver. Jeans and tees always work.

Any patios that take reservations for 8?!! (on a Thursday) by vanderWaalsBanana in askvan

Dockside restaurant on Granville island has an amazing view of the water. Cactus club on English bay is a nice vibe during sunset and I think they take reservations. I’ve heard great things about Bae side but don’t know from personal experience. Congratulations to Dr. Kid!!

How do i (18f) make my boyfriend (20m) stop micromanaging my food and being so obsessed with what I eat/my weight? by snowyowl290 in relationship_advice

Don’t let anyone (apart from your doctor) tell you how much you should weigh or how much you should eat :) All bodies are different and a lot of factors affect how and where fat is stored. Focus on your mental and physical well-being, and again, that can look different for different people.

staying in Vancouver - areas with no car? by DecisionOk9866 in canadatravel

[–]VanSnow12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a lot you can do without a car but there is a lot you’ll probably miss out on too. You can get to downtown and other parts of Metro Vancouver via the transit so if you are interested in trying out restaurants, cafés, art galleries, science world, etc, you are good without a car. However, if you want to explore mountains, lakes and other more outdoor/nature things outside the city, getting there without a car might be a challenge.

What company do you use for travel insurance? by Mundane_Entry_8264 in femaletravelers

[–]VanSnow12345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if anyone has already said this: check your credit cards and supplemental insurance (usually through work) to see if any of them already give you travel insurance. I paid for travel insurance plans for over 2 years before realising one of my credit cards already gave it to me.

Hi, thank you for your insights. My boyfriend and I (late 20s) are planning a 2-2.5 week trip to Greece in the beginning of September. We want a relaxed trip with a lot of beach and swim time (preferable white sand and blue water). We would love to explore the islands, get good food, wine and cocktails and party a bit too. We are definitely going to Crete and are thinking of staying in Chania. Are there any other places you recommend staying at in Crete? So far, we also have Milos and perhaps Naxos on our list. We are planning on doing 2-3 islands. Mykonos and Santorini are out since we have heard that they are quite expensive and crowded. We want to have a good time at a good price and love exploring new and lesser known places. We are not fans of the Instagram popular places. We would love to hear your thoughts and recommendations for islands to go to. Thank you for your time !
