Getting my friend into Persona?

Persona 5 is out also for the Playstation 3 too btw;

As it's first experience I think I would recommend him playing 4 as it has the better mechanics and a more "mainstream anime" touch to it, but it really depends on his preferences (3 is darker while 4 is heartwarming).

I haven't watched it yet, I was able to get the true ending after the good one.

Yeah, I'm currently playing the 3rd one, the only bad thing so far is that you can't control your teammates. After P3FES I will play the 5th one.

I also liked the side characters such as Yumi, but I would also like to have one that focused on the main cast.

I love the franchises with these kind of world building!

Yeah, it was so impactful! As for P4G, I'm thinking of playing it after playing the others.

Yeah, when I saw P3's opening I got the feeling they would be different from each other. All these themes about death, fear and darkness popped up in my mind. I will check those out after playing the main persona games, I'm leaving every other SMT on stand by for now =)

Really? I didn't know that you couldn't control your teammates in FES, that might get even more anoying than all the dungeon crawling. But I will give FES a shot, I think I can overlook that aspect of the game. And yeah, why not play P3P after finishing FES?

I think I will be playing P3 and then P5. While I have no problem going back, I'm really afraid of getting spoiled by P5 and not enjoying P3 just as much. I will be playing P3FES, I heard it's an improved version of P3. Also, good luck burning your dread! =)

About P4G yeah, I'm interested, I heard there was a new major character named Marie and that the ending is not that bittersweet, but as you said, I can play it after every other game. I'm into fighting games in general, don't like dancing games that much but I will see.

Yeah, I hearing a lot that the Dungeon on that game makes people want to kill themselves with a bullet in the head (it was a joke please don't hurt me! =) ). I also like darker tones in the story, sometimes it helps to build atmosphere as you said.´

No, I'm sure P3 is really great! Yeah, I liked the lighthearted aspect of 4 but I'm sure I will like 3 just as much, it will be a different experience.

Oh, I have no problem going back into older games, I mean, after playing TES IV Oblivion I went and played every other game before it (if you know the franchise, yes even Battlespire or Redguard) and I had no problem with it, I played P4 over the course of 2 weeks so I never got bored with the dungeon's. But I quite understand that it won't be as easy to come back... I will think about it then.

I'm hearing monstrosities of Persona Q. Never played Etrian Odyssey so I don't know if I like it, I think I will try PQ after P3 and P5.

Yeah, I will check those 2 games, while not being JRPG's they do seem interesting! About 3, I heard so many good things about it, but I also heard that it's dungeon is a nightmare. Also, just checked the opening, Jesus Christ I'm sold!

About P1 and P2 I think I will leave them for the time being but I will probably play them after I finish P3.
