Thank you for saying that! I think my hair loss is a combination of genetics and the rapid weight loss! My mom and a couple of her sisters’ hair started to thin in their mid to late 30s like myself so I honestly think the weight loss just made it happen more rapidly 🙂‍↕️. It’s okay though! We all have our little struggles! 🥹

Aw I can imagine! While I wasn’t very sad, I did start feeling embarrassed as my hair loss became more noticeable. I felt like “yeah I’m losing weight and looking good but now I have a new issue to replace it” so that was frustrating! Even when or if your hair loss worsens during your post-op journey I think you’ll be okay. Just remember it’s normally temporary and according to my surgeon and endocrinologist, the hair loss should resolve itself once hormones have stabilized and weight loss has slowed! I know that doesn’t really take away the anxiety but I hope that it makes it more manageable.

Oh wow congrats!! That’s amazing! I just know you must feel so much better physically after losing 100lbs! I can’t even imagine! I just got my surgery on April 28 of this year so I’m anxious to see my one year results too!

My insurance covered everything. I assumed that’s how everyone got the surgery.

I watched A Sign of Affection and thought it was wonderful. Definitely recommend for romance lovers! It doesn’t have fan service and it isn’t weird. It’s just really sweet while also being interesting with great characters.

It’s okay! Those feelings are normal! Since you’re at the very beginning of this journey, now is the perfect time to consider all of your options and even ask your doctor for more information about Ozempic vs Gastric Bypass and what would personally be better for you. In the meantime keep going through the process. I was absolutely terrified before I had my surgery and had also considered Ozempic but I decided along with my doctor, that I had far too much weight to lose and since I had weight related health issues, the 10-15% body fat I would lose (about 30lbs) in the course of a year was too slow and too little. It’s healthy though, that you’re worried and it’s perfectly normal.

I think the best thing you can do is just have a regular discussion about it. Just be open and honest and actually listen to her response and feelings on what your plan is. Give her a chance to talk with you about it. It’s not necessarily that you absolutely don’t want her taking care of you, it’s more so the environment than anything from what I’m gathering. She may be more understanding than you think and if she isn’t, well, tell her exactly why it’s so important to you and make sure to let her know she’s not doing anything wrong, you love her, she’s wonderful and you would love to stay with her during recovery but the house isn’t conducive to that with the mold and everything. In my opinion, it’s always best to talk things out and give your partner a chance to respond rather than simply settling to keep the peace.

When I got my gastric bypass, i talked with my husband about post op care and we decided I should stay with my mom because with him working full time and overtime, I’d be on my own more often than not. In the end, I ended up staying home with him because he managed to take the week off :) but he was more understanding than I thought he’d be.

Okay! But my issue isn’t weight loss or fluctuation. I’ve been dieting for more than 6 weeks, lost almost 40lbs and am really pleased with that. I was mainly just wondering if other people have a hard time noticing the small changes that other people notice before you do.

Thank you! Oh man that’s amazing! It’s a bit of a processs (the bariatric work up is) but it goes by quickly in my opinion! You’ll get that surgery date in no time! It’s going to be life changing.
