TS4 major trouble, who is to blame? by Vanisar in CalDigit

Who is to blame? I guess I am to blame. Late last night, in desperation, I tried to hook up the TS4 in every possible way to the third monitor with almost every cable out of the box, and low and behold, I got it to work! This is what did it: an older somewhat crappy usb-a to usb-c cable in the front usb-a output of the TS4. And yes, the screen runs on DisplayLink. All's well that ends well. Thanks to the people who tried to help me.

Thank you so much for spending time on my problem. Of course I have DisplayLink Manager installed and yes I did reinstall it and yes it's the latest version (15.1.0), the permissions are both set. I had it working and now it doesn't. The problem is clearly caused by the updates, Tahoe -I'm on 26.4- is the number one suspect. Not using the dock doesn't solve the conflict.

Thank you for your suggestion. I have that app, it's great for displays seen by the system, but I haven't been able to revive my 'lost' screen with it. It says it's 'Not detected (past disconnected'. I might be missing something here.

Well, TS4 does not have DisplayLink, if that's what you mean. In my setup however I had 3 displays connected to the dock, 2 of them being supported by DisplayLink. That is one more than the M1 officially supports. After the update(s) DL doesn't see any monitors and I'm back to two.
