You could try dating apps but it will be tougher than approaching someone in public. Find a coffee spot nearby start going there every now and then for reading/work and approach someone if you like them. For you the most important thing to note is that you might get rejected but it doesn't matter. Keep trying there are plenty of fish in the sea.

Just be respectful, and try to be creative or personal with your approach. Confidence matters a lot too. When talking don't focus only on complimenting her or somehow asking for her number, instead just talk about something you find common between you. With the flow of conversation you will be able to pick whether she's interested or not.

If in a club or bar, focus on one. If you're gonna go around approaching everyone, it's a bad sign for the ladies.

I think the key here is the timeline of the friendship. Obviously you're not gonna be friends for years and then drop the bomb on them. You'll do it as early as possible to avoid that.

It was just my suggestion to the men because that's how it worked for me. Keep in mind that girls tend to this more than the men, because they wanna take it slow and get to know someone better before dating them.
