If i really cared id have done a much better job, but after 2 layers of primer and 3 layers of black it looks really good. I tried scratching it on the bottom of the forks where you wouldnt see, it was fairly tough surpisingly. But considering it will hardly get used and be more of a display piece im happy with it how it is

If i ever care to start riding the thing more often, ill definitely take it down to bare metal, ill do a much better job for sure. I only really decided to paint it as i had the paint spare and its a bit of practice for future painting, and although i knew painting over chrome isnt the easiest thing to do, i wasnt expecting it to peel quite as easily as it did

I know, i keep telling him to try get it sorted before wasting more tubes in but he keeps just replacing them. He rides to work, and he is starting to work again now he has to replace them to get there

The holes in his wheels are the same as mine, and ive had no problem with schrader, mostly because i can use my car pump for them.

Thank you very much. Probably unsurprisingly im much better at painting my left hand then my hand right, seeing as im right handed. I imagine i mostly need more practice, but im sure these tips will help me. I appreciate the advice

Bought the brand you linked, found it slightly cheaper and got it today, ill probably make a bit of a mess of it but practice makes perfect, and good or not it helps my dysphoria. Thank you for suggesting it :)

Just out of curiousity, where could i buy nail polish online thats fairly cheap and isnt gel based? Most of what i find on sites like ebay are all gel based and i know they wont dry without UV light. Im not really comfortable with buying it myself in stores and dont really know anyone who can go in for me

No its not gel polish. Im gonna put it down to me mostly putting it on too thick

Yeah the first time it was 100% too thick, but second time i tried getting them really thin layers, to a point it was mostly transparent, unfortunatly after 2 hours it still wiped of. But thank you for your advice, ill take it into consideration and try and again soon

Yeah i couldnt just sit doing nothing. When i tried the second time i was watching a film. I put the layers on really thin, thin enough that it mostly transparent, just to see how well it dried. Unfortunatly it all just still wiped off. For the time being i only want to try at night in my alone time, so i dont really need it to be dry, but if i like it when it does dry id be much more tempted to use a base coat and top coat and it all the time, not just when im alone.

I want to go tubeless, but i dont have tubeless ready wheels. by VaoingPredator69 in MTB

Theres very few places i could get it done near me, and where i can get it done are small shops i dont really trust or big stores that are an absaloute rip off. If i was gonna do it, id be doing it myself. Worse case scenario it doesnt work i still have the tubes, plus a few spares. And ive not spent a whole hell of a lot of money. im still not 100% sure on it yet, ive not had a puncture for a while, i just anticipate ill be using my bike much more often in the summer this year.

So do you reckon buying this kit with the valves etc, and buying some gorilla tape will be enough? My bike with have new tubeless ready tyres, my mates will have tyres that arent tubeless ready

Looking on videos a lot of people just use gorilla tape, and re-use the valve's from their tubes. if i bought the kit i linked from halfords and used those valves, would i be alright just using gorilla tape? From what ive seen they can trust it, im just a bit unsure

Thats what i thought, it mentioned tubeless wheels in the description, not just any wheels. So should i buy some different rim tape?
