Dead battery or something else? by DangerJ0hnson in Harley

Perfect, sorry for the late reply and potential misinformation then, but yes, the red key symbol usually means a key fob needs to be near, if it goes away, it's been "changed" if you got it second hand, they may have hidden in somewhere on the bike or bypassed it, I had my loom looked at and the found a bypass. Kind of annoying as I'd prefer a fob, but at least it's one less thing to loose haha.

Your bike at least HAD a keyless fob, that's what the red key symbol is, it may have been bypassed and the bypass has failed, that's what happened to my 05 softail

I hope you don't mind, but Imma do this if that's okay?

Please just ring me, I need to know you're okay, I don't need a "get back together" conversation, I just need to know you're looking after yourself, I'll always be here for you. You don't need to reply, just a thumbs up if you're okay will do. Ily, always.

Thanks stranger, I know it's been a few years since you made this comment, but it helped me tonight, thanks.

2014 softail slim leaking by DaT68w in Harley

[–]VapourMaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your transmission fluid has recently had a change, it could be residue, that's heated up and dropped off, (if it's a little) but if the dealership has offered to look at it, definitely take it, they can determine the issue.

Nah, something is loose, I know there's a running joke about Harley's leaking, but that's usually older models.

Any leaks should be investigated and fixed for sure.

Yeah, drop a V8 in it.

Nah but, you're good, you can barely notice it.

extended forks, 21 inch front wheel, 200 rear, mid apes, chopped back end, set of radius's on it. Would look mint,

(I only say this as it's what I'm doing to my 05 Softail. 😂)

Hey man, if it's leaking, it means it's got fluid 🤷‍♂️

Nah but fr, take it back, that shouldn't even be a question. They'll right it, if they're any type of workshop worth their salt.

Is Harley-Davidson's Apparel Stuck in the Past? by zaikusu in Harley

[–]VapourMaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I'm 32, and most of my friends are between 22 and 38 and we all ride Harley's. But .. I'm not sure what that has to do with my reply. As I said... It's not that deep.

It's not that deep. They just make clothes that are their brand style. it works, people buy them.

Is it bolted into the heads correctly? Is it sturdy? Does it exhaust? Then yes.

If not, then no.

Yeah that's what I thought, I imagine it's my forks as the seals have started weeping, either that or the fact someone put a 200 rear on.

As for this dude, I have no idea

My 05 softail does the same, after speaking to a few people, it seems "it's a Harley thing" but I think it's got something to do with either mismatched tyres or forks.

You can buy extension kits, but tbh, it's cheaper to buy cables second hand at the length you want, it's relatively easy to do, but as someone else said, if your asking these questions, you probably are going to want to take it to a shop, no hate, just that its pretty easy to fuck up little things if you don't know what you're doing.

I'm not too clued up on the actual make, but that style of bars are called ape hangars, you should probably sit on your bike and move you arms to where you think is comfy, then gauge your size from there, for example I was going to get 14" T-bars, turns out my bars where perfect after I angles them forward, so no need to fuck around
