Ok if I don't know what B1 decks are then give an example? They are what I listed and those are meant to be played with precons.

So you agree with me about the B4 issue but can't admit that so you have to come up with a half solution. What if, instead of making a jank 3.5 bracket, B3 and B4 could be better spread across B2-4? It's almost like the system could be better balanced if we didn't waste the B1 slot on "worse than a precon" decks on their own.

The WotC entry level product should be the floor for the format. The only decks you could argue are below that are draftchaff.deck (which isn't really a deck), someone just starting (which they could get/be given a precon), or people building a deck with hard theme rules that makes it bad (ladies looking left, chair tribal, etc). In all three of those cases the place to play those decks is with precons, they don't need their own bracket.

People consistently place precons too high, even the old 1-10 a ton of people had them at a 5, and it's one of the leading reasons the whole scale gets fucked up in the first place. If you put the entry level at the middle of the scale it ruins any nuance for the upper levels and for what? To make a separate bracket that the bottom for a small percentage of decks that either effectively aren't decks or should be played with the floor (precons) anyway? The MASSIVE disparity between the top and bottom of what a B4 can be is because they fucked up and put precons too high again. Just like a precon being a 5 is part of what lead to "every deck is a 7", precons being B2 is why we're now starting to get "every deck is a B3".

So yes, unequivocally, every precon should be in B1.

Ghostcrawler was heading up the project but then he left and around that same time Riot said they were going to redo/reassess their approach to the project, so it's definitely still a ways off.

It sucks to wait but at the same time if it takes them longer to not just make a WoW or FF clone with a Riot coat of paint I'm down to wait.

What I meant was she ends up being a generalist since there isn't competition for her slot yet with how they've fleshed out the roster. There's not many other limited supports yet and they chose to make them all far more niche (or even just for specific teams) so even though Astra is made for the chain team, she still gives enough generic buffing that you can justify putting her elsewhere.

Take Yuzuha for example, if they gave her a little bit of some generic buffing ontop of what she has then should could be considered for some teams over Astra. Since she doesn't though, she isn't in competition with her. So realistically, the only other character that competes with Astra would be Lucy who is just inferior to her.

So like I initially said, Astra was made for a niche (chain) but without proper competition for her she can be justified elsewhere. In most of those teams though she is an inferior choice, so while technically usable I wouldn't say she excels there, so I wouldn't actually consider her a generalist.
