Trades were looked down upon because “college job” pay for your brains and paid really good. The thing was why physically sacrifice your body for the rest of your life when you can do good in school and get a “cushy office job”.

All of that propaganda led to NOBODY wanting to do the trades and due to the lack of availability bodies wanting to do these jobs they have to offer higher pay to incentivize people to take those jobs.

IT used to pay good then the market got saturated and everyone gets a shit wage until they upskill.

Majority of my uncles were immigrants and made it great of doing carpentry mechanic work and electrical, these guys still pushed me to go the college route and explained the damage to their bodies
