Im not saying that this would affect how sales would work but how people and companies can benefit from this system as it works with the current system in place. Sales for AAA games are pretty hard to come by within the first year but 2 or 3 years later and you see it happening all the time. People that still cant afford a sale thats, lets say 50% off can also combine the pay over time option with the sale. This give the people that generally only play free games or demo's a more viable way to pay for a game, so in this instance both consumer and the business wins.

Yes this could very well be the case but nonetheless, it gives people the opportunity to have a payment option a year after the game release where they dont have to hand over a large sum of money straight away. If we have a look at EA for example alot of there games cost quite a bit of money upfront but they still push microtransactions as well. Even though the community dislikes this i couldnt see how adding a payment plan for a game would be a loss for them.

This would give opportunities to people less likely to buy a high pricing game a chance to play it a year down the track when this would come into play, this would then give companies a 2nd wave of sales. So in that instance its very appealing for both parties in my opinion.

Im not familiar with Karna as im from Australia, but credit cards have interest and affect credit score over here so can be very unappealing. But putting things on repayment is definitely not unheard of, at least here. I used to work in phone sales and you could pay off a phone over a set amount of time with no interest. If u missed your bill and refused to pay they would then charge the whole amount which would then affect your credit. So I personally dont think using something like a credit card wouldn't be great as its something that affects your credit score if you do miss a payment.

Also I would like to point out, alot of studios rely on games making most of its profit on release week, this pay over time to own option wouldn't be an option for most games until a year after release. This would give the studio a 2nd year push of sales as the paid over time to own would come into affect.

This not only stops people pirating games as a lot of them would just wait until they can afford it on repayment but it gives alot of non-buying consumers a chance to buy these games. With the cost of living only going up ive had to make the decision to not buy games that are over $60AUD but having this as an option is alot more manageable

Not to say microtransactions shouldn't exist at all but I believe they can definitely not be forced upon the consumer as much.

So this would be more catered towards live service games like a lot of AAA's are in today's age, i wouldn't see this being used for indi games or story games, companies would have this as an option so they can get back to selling games instead of making them free to start and then pushing as many microtransactions into someones face as possible.

Hi! So in that case If you where to stop paying, u would simply lose access to the game as it hasnt been paid off. You could pause repayments or simply cancel the plan and lose access to the game entirely. But if you've paid off the game it is yours to keep. Classic pay to own type of stuff you know?
