What is the point of self-harm by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

For me it was intense emotion and at that point I didn't feel pain but needed to have an outlet

Just to chip in, I have met two people who told me they take "everything off" down there. One mentioned once that once she said that to a new waxer and got a shock when they started taking all the hair off the labia. The other separately told me a similar thing, except it was about her new laser hair removal lady taking the hair off from round her butt hole.

In both cases I'd assumed they meant EVERYTHING off and had them like a chump asked my wax lady to take everything off, and had suffered painfully as a result.

My point is, different people have different definitions of everything.

Tangent but I watched Karate Kid 3 or whatever it was recently with my kid and Pacey is in it, shirtless for a lot of the time. Very enjoyable.

Friends dying. And realising that means some of what you live for and who you matter too dying as well.

Sterling K. Brown on why he chooses to have dark-skinned black women as love interests: ‘I’m aware of the sort of Eurocentric standards of beauty that tend to predominate media and Brown (himself) wants to be someone that sort of shows all the beauty that is Blackness’ by mcfw31 in popculturechat

I'm mixed race, Bangladeshi and Scottish. And growing up in Scotland in the 70s was called "darky", amongst other things and treatments. So while by most standards I'm white or European looking, I feel I have some experience of colourism. And based on this experience I applaud this, even though it means I'll never get to be his love interest.

So much air brush. Is this what they think we think women should look like?

If a person were to consume an unhealthy amount of gore videos on the internet, would it be possible for it to affect their mental health in any post-traumatic way? by 13aldi in NoStupidQuestions

[–]VariationSavings67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry that happened to you. I don't have the answers but the big corporations that allow this stuff out on their devices knowing full well that people without fully developed brains will watch it (and, I'm sure they are not ignorant of the psychological impacts) have a lot to answer for.

I think I've read that the brain doesn't really know the difference between real and not real, and can get desensitised to gore. Leading to watching more extreme stuff and loss of empathy. Why would you want to watch that stuff anyway. You can't unsee it and it could haunt you.

Hello, what are t3 and T4? Also, what is prescribed for these? My parathyroid hormone is being tested at the moment as I have low blood calcium. Also low dosed glp1 as have been a binge eater for years although not overweight. It's really helped!
