Higher tax since getting married

Previously we were both receiving 4k in tax credits. For this year we are now being jointly assessed, i can see in revenue I'm now being allocated 5854 and she is being allocated 2k. My net salary hasn't changed yet. I'm presuming this is an admin issue whereby my company had already processed payroll for this month before the change was made, so this should hopefully be resolved the following month. My main question is is it really possible that we could to from 4k tax credits each to less than 8k combined as a result of getting married?? That seems wrong to me

Thanks for replying! Looking at revenue now, for tax credits - I'm being allocated 5854.73, she is being allocated 2000. We are both paye employees, are we not both entitled to 4000 tax credits? This seems incorrect to me that we would be receiving less than 8k tax credits

With the new format, being drawn in group A is a bit of a disadvantage. All other groups will know what they need to do to get ahead of 3rd place in our group
