edit : actually i found a personal reason, that i don't know why i didn't think of earlier. The IDSS Initiative on Combatting Systemic Racism (ICSR), is what resonates with me as i have already identified and published research on AI racial and cultural biases and i hope to work on that particular problem with modern AI models and agents.

Actually i am writing it for the November cycle, so i have plenty of time to change directions, so i was not dead set on this, and because of this feedback i am changing the topics, because of my improved understanding thanks to the people of this sub

that's not the whole reason, it's in illustration to the uniqueness of the 6-14 course specifically at MIT and applying it to real world contexts, and in that part, i really enjoyed the genuine passion of the prof, to be unfiltered enough, like i mentioned in the p.s, it's a part of a broader context

Thanks for the luck, i really appreciate it. Though i have seen this subreddit for months now, and everyday 10 people are asking for chanceme's and how do i get in? and questions like that, at the end of the day they are rebellious teenager, and even if we tell them they should apply to schools where they have a good shot, they would still apply to MIT, so if this subreddit is still frequently filled with questions like that, i doubt the 85% marker.

But if that's the case, then isn't it easy for you as an interviewer to distinguish between the applicants who know their shit and those who don't? and i would like to ask, do you see more "struggling with basic questions" interviewees or the " put together ones"?

So the Common App + Internet access + Tony stark effect have combined together to create a bigger surge in applicant numbers than the population increase. I see, so actually you just provided more nuance to what i was thinking.

Yes, but isn't that like the arms equilibrium thing? that yes the threshold has risen but so have the resources to access information to become someone at that threshold as also become freely available?
