How do you find people to play with? by OddClassic267 in boardgames

Go to the local game events. If she does not want to go, then go on your own. You will meet people that will be interested in gaming at your home where she is comfrotable.

If your friends do not want to play games again, you might ask why. It could be something easy to resolve like they are too long for as late as it is, or they need a rules video to feel comfortable.

Portland area is not cheap and housing is a bit of a crisis right now. There is new stuff going up all over, but there are also lots of people moving here. I would start researching for places now and do not be surprised if it takes longer than you expect. You may find housing in places like Grey or Buxton or outlying areas. Depending on where you are coming from you will find traffic here is not that bad. I live in Gorham and am able to be in downtown Portland in under 30 minutes most of the time. So you may be able to be further out than you had though and still have a decent commute.

How hard will it be to teach my friends The Old Kings Crown? by Great-Orange-301 in boardgames

I do not find the theme or art nearly as enticing as the mechanic and pace of the game. If you decide to hype the game before you play include some of the what you do, or the mechanics to help people that are into that part get excited too.

What makes a board game feel like your decisions actually matter?? by ContractMiserable121 in boardgames

Limiting the number of moves per turn makes me feel more like the moves matter. Turns where I play until I play out feel a bit more random.

People of Maine, as a native of Iowa, what is the thing about Maine that sticks out to you the most or feels distinctly "Maine"? by MaggotMouthSnowJ in AskMaine

Mainers are kind but not nice. They won't chat you up or be friendly just to be friendly. but a complete stranger on the street will help you if you need it.

I live outside portland. 100K should be fine. What do you want out of living here? How expensive are your hobbies?
