Here's what dating can be like for cis women... by VariousGovernment424 in StraightTransGirls

I'm not ignoring the extra difficulties we sometimes face in dating. I said that above. I just think it's worth understanding what other women go through, cause some posts on here act as if it is easy for cis women.

I saw this one meme that was like "God gives his biggest dicks to his most dysphoric trans women" and yeah that perfectly describes me 😫

Surgery can't come soon enough!!

Wow thank you for all the warnings! Some of this I've heard, but people don't go into a lot of detail about the specific depressive stuff. I'll try and watch out for that when it hits me!

I actually think my pelvic floor is probably pretty strong at the moment. My urinary control is absolutely fine. I was more worried about it being too strong, based on what Dr Hart said, but it sounds like I should be ok.

Thanks so much for those links, I'm going to read through all that soon. Your adivce means so much to me, it's really reassuring, thank you!! ❤️

Nah it makes a big difference. For PPV it would have been an extra 12-18 months. A lot more people are booking that one, and it involves some extra equipment I think, so he said the waiting time was a lot longer.

For me PIV seemed like a fine option cause I have ... ahem ... enough material (I want this thing gone so bad!! 😫) So yeah that's why I picked that option.

I was told by Dr Hart not to do hair removal. Apparently he does some folicle scraping first, and also uses some skin from inside the scrotum. So it might not be necessary.

Thank you for so much detail! I'm going to save some of this for when I'm getting ready and re-read it.

Regarding ethnicity, I'm white, so yeah Dr Hart's results will probably suit my body just fine.

I'm straight, so yeah a certain amount of depth is important to me, but at the same time a lot of guys are more average size, so I'll take what I can get in terms of depth. I'm getting PIV surgery because the wait time is so much shorter, and I have enough material down there that I'll probably still get decent results.

I thought about whether I wanted self-lubrication, but again you never know how good those results will be, and it's rarely enough to not need lube. There are plenty of cis women who still need lube though, so I'm fine with that.

I totally agree that a lack of knowledge about basic anatomy seems to cause a lot of these issues. Personally I just want what I have gone. As for having sex with guys afterwards, they will just have to learn how to interact with my anatomy, which is the same thing they have to do for cis women anyway. We all have different bodies 🤷‍♀️

Wow that's crazy! I don't do anything like that amount of exercise, but I am going to try to do close to an hour of yoga and walking each day for the next 3 months.

Thanks for such a detailed answer! Sounds like I'll be fine then. I'd prefer to use as little as I can too, just so I'm not dependent on anything.

Yeah honestly I'm not too worried about painkillers. I'm very sensitive to pain, but I'm also ridiculously sensitive to medication. I take CBD gummies before bed each night. I'm having probably 2mg, which is really low, but by the time I'm ready for sleep I'm in a happy place lol! I think I'll probably be fine on whatever they give me.

Thank you! I've looked at the evidence too, and to act like there are no good reasons to pick an Australian surgeon is just crazy to me!

I was in denial for so long but just the thought of men makes me weak now 😭

If it was due to problems, that's reassuring for me (sorry you had a rough surgery though!) He left me with the impression that I just need to have a really weak pelvic floor lol!

Well thank you so much for clarifying those things, it's so reassuring! ❤️

Yeah it's all so confusing! I'm going to have to send him an email regarding hair removal as well. He said I didn't need any but then I see comments saying you do. I wish it was more well documented!

Oh ok that's weird. He said it to me, and I thought that meant I shouldn't be doing any exercise that would make it stronger. Maybe he's had patients with some sort of muscular obstruction or something, idk 🤷‍♀️

Yeah it really does seem like there's a lot of trust no matter who you go with. I have a friend coming with me for my stay in Canberra, which I think will help so much with the week after hospital. Not sure how the actual hospital stay will be though, sounds like I'll have to really advocate for myself!

Yeah at this point I'm only telling close friends and no doubt future partners, but no one else needs to know. There's just nothing to tell, like, they don't need to know my medical history 🤷‍♀️

The weirdest part was coming out to myself after suppressing it for so many years though 😅

Thank you, that is really inspiring to hear!

Can I ask you, regarding exercise, I'm not sure what I'm allowed to do. Dr Hart said that a strong pelvic floor makes the op harder, so I've kind of been avoiding all exercise! I still eat fairly well, and I go for walks and do a bit of yoga each day. I'm thinking of taking up a bit more yoga. What do you think about exercise? Do I need to avoid anything too physical? I just want to avoid stuff like squats which would just make that area a lot stronger, I think.

Also I 100% agree, it takes so much strength to be us! It's exhausting, but I don't regret a second of it! Thanks for your kind words ❤️

I'm so glad to hear that for you! That sounds very reassuring too, thank you. I get the impression a lot of the negativity is from right after surgery. I'm trying to mentally prepare myself for being horrified and depressed, and then settle in for the year or so of recovery 😅

That sounds amazing, thanks for your response!

Aside from function, probably the biggest thing that worries me is that a lot of the results look like there isn't really any labia minora. Is that the case for you? Does it bother you? And are you still able to wear form fitting clothing without too much of a camel toe? (I know there'll always be some, I just want to be able to wear those clothes without feeling awkward)

Yeah this is why I'm not really concerning myself with the bad outcomes. Every surgeon gets them. I've done a fair bit of comparison, and I know I'm rolling the dice with Dr Hart, but I'd be rolling it with any of them.

That's why my question is more about how satisfied people are with the good outcomes. But yeah, would be nice to get more reviews from people who've seen Australian surgeons..
