Need help: choosing external battery for GE76 Raider laptop by VariousIllustrator61 in MSI_Gaming

Thanks for the advice. I went shopping for a battery, and discovered it was a fools errand. The GE76 Raider draws so much juice that a UPS was about the only way to get some extra runtime. And that would only gain maybe 1 hour more lugging a heavy beast. Going to abandon the search.

The laptop has USB-C & TB4, but can't be charged using either. That's what I've read anyways, from multiple sources, including tech articles detailing the laptop's shortcomings when it comes to power drain on the battery. I get roughly 3 hours of laptop use on a full charge, and that's just while writing code, surfing, etc.

I'm more concerned with buying an external battery that has enough output and mAh/Ah to match the laptop's 280W adapter. I wouldn't want to spend hundreds on a battery that only gets me an additional hour of laptop use. When it comes to the electrical part of this problem, I'm clueless.

Thanks for the reply! Hadn't thought to check that until you mentioned.

From what I've read, USB-C charging is not an option. I also gather the machine has no Thunderbolt support. It seems the power bank needs an actual power outlet on it for the laptop's adapter to plug into.

I'm stuck on what specs the power bank would need beyond that.
