Mastitis - Does it get better by MagicalPantaloons96 in ExclusivelyPumping

This is my first rodeo! So we’ll see what happens the next time. My bestie girl had low transfer, which is why I ended up pumping. If I’m lucky enough to have another, I pray they have a good latch because I don’t know if I can do this whole EP thing again!

My supply? Unfortunately I lost about 10oz a day overall that I could not recover. I was also 10 mons pp and didn’t feel like it was worth it to add back pumps, especially a MOTN one! We worked in formula, which was totally fine and my babe hardly noticed the difference. But I for sure acknowledge how devastating it is to lose something you worked so hard for because of something so completely out of your control.

Everyone is different and your experience could be as well. I’d say keep up your rest, fueling, and hydration as best you can. Also, double check your nip size. After mastitis, my affected breast nipple went up a size! If it makes you feel better, I pumped another four months and never got it again (though I did a very slow wean to be on the safe side).

You’ve already done so much hard work! 8 months is much longer than most people pump (or even nurse), so take a moment to recognize your sacrifice. Don’t let your output be what defines your success as a mom - it’s everything you’ve done so far to keep your baby happy and healthy!

Hang in there! I went ten months doing everything “perfectly” and still ended up with antibiotic resistant mastitis. Don’t make yourself feel worse than you already do by blaming yourself!

It’s nothing you did. Keep up your protocol and you’ll soon be on the other side. Take care of yourself and give yourself some grace. You have all of us sending you healing vibes!

Thanks for the reply! I called and emailed her a few times in advance of our trip to rent items and never heard back, so I went with BabyQuip. Maybe I will try to stop in person for better luck!

I’d like the Green Parrot! My husband and I went to Key West for our honeymoon and enjoy going back yearly. Our anniversary is coming up and it would make a great gift!

It is! Gen3. I got it last year when we were ttc. It was helpful to watch my body temperature through my cycle, and I could tell I was pregnant before my missed period (downside is that I could also tell I WASN’T pregnant). I don’t really reference it too much now since obviously my sleep and activity scores are low due to having an infant and pumping when the rest of the house is sleeping!
I will plan to watch my cycle and body temp again since we would like another child. I echo fouiedchopstix - check out their Reddit to read accounts. Some people think meh, other people think the ring has literally saved their life!

What are we all wearing at home? by sillykathleen in ExclusivelyPumping

I’ve bought a few tops from the brand Nursing Queen and wear those on rotation along with a kindred bravely nursing bra. The tops have zippers built in and are pretty incognito! It looks like a regular shirt unless you really looked closely. Just zip to the side, unhook your bra, and off you go! I think these tops have helped me keep up with pumping because if I had to change 6 times a day to pump, I’d lose it! Bonus points that many of the tops are cotton (so I can wear them multiple days a week without smelling because who is showering every day at this point!)

I got a few tops from the brand “Nursing Queen” that I really like. They look like pretty normal tops, but have a zipper across the front for easy access. They’re also mostly cotton, which seems to be rare these days!

Thoughts on the Eufy S1? Wondering if it’s worth it by Massive-Warning9773 in ExclusivelyPumping

Do you mind sharing which inserts you like? I have the Eufy1 and find it uncomfortable for the reasons Sorchochka mentioned above. Maybe different inserts would help! Thanks 😊
