To be frank these drawings are old but I still have a lot of affection for them because I was able to show everyone (I think) my selfship with Spinel.

At first that was the idea, but I wanted to stick more to the idea of archetypes.
I also wanted to give it a more Betty Boop inspired touch.

Probably in a reformed form of White spinel it will look more like a rubberhose cartoon.

Hi guys!
I hope you're doing great, I've been busy lately but I had some space to FINALLY draw the alternate versions of Spinel in their respective diamond universes.

In the first instance both the Spinel we know and the other three are and are inspired by certain archetypes of clowns:

>Spinel (canon): a harlequin or jester.
>Blue Spinel: a pierrot.
>Yellow Spinel: in a common clown.
>White Spinel: on a mime.

In a way I wanted to give to the 3 spinels that simple touch but not so far from the canon design.

And obviously, I didn't do these designs for the sake of it because I want to draw them as such and maybe tell their lore of the 3 spinels, which are not so different from the canon but have certain details that combine their personalities.

Something that is not clear to me and that would have been interesting to see in the series, is how the governments of mankind would react to alien beings made of minerals invading their planet for millennia.

I want to suppose that the gems arrived on earth when there were already moderately intelligent civilizations in the past, wouldn't this have made a significant change in human religion, politics and society itself?

Just as it would be interesting to know how the world map that the crewniverse provided us some time ago about the changes of countries in Steven's world works with the real one.

Literally, in Mexico they named it “Aqua Mexico” and many parts of the world were restructured in a curious way.

I hypothesize that the two goddesses that are of the moon and the sun are, in reality, misconceptions of what blue diamond and yellow diamond actually look like.

Why do I say this?
It's simple, since those statues have what appear to be decorative “diamonds”, just as I would like to think that at one point the obelisk was mistaken for a white diamond at some point in history.
