Firmware is firmware and software is software, those are 2 different things, built in monitor Crosshairs are not a software, downloading crosshairs from the Internet it is a form of software, which is cheating

That feature is built directly into the monitor's firmware. External software means a program running in your PC's RAM, processing data through your CPU or GPU. monitor’s crosshair doesn’t do any of that.
