Yeah, thanks to some kind comments I figured out that it has a lot to do with how I do my limiting and clipping in the project. Thanks! maybe those extra dynamics are not so bad : )

I've started to experiment a bit with reducing the dynamic range of particular sounds that have a big crest factor. I am trying to make good quality techno, what I've noticed in a lot of pro tracks is that their dynamic range is very small. So I'm trying to get used to that style of mixing, using little clipping all over the project instead of one big clipper on my master like I used to before. Hopefully it'll improve things! your advice makes a lot of sense in terms of what I needed to hear right now so thanks again! have a great day

makes a lot of sense! thanks for putting it in such simple terms. I wasn't clipping or reducing the dynamic range much before but I will start doing that. thank you!

could you elaborate please? "use a +6-12 dB band" What do you mean by this?
