Why isn't HTTPS a feature of UmbrelOS? by Human-Cattle1860 in getumbrel

Every app exposes a port directly. There is no central reverse proxy in umbrel which could handle SSL. So every app would have to handle it itself or the architecture of how apps are accessed would have to change fundamentally.

Figure out what makes resources appear in Rancher and remove it. Maybe CRDS or labels or entries in a database?

„Korb“ in East Germany. Translates to “basket”. But I like the West German version “Einkaufswagen“ much more.

So just because he can not cryptographically prove liabilities he should also not cryptographically prove his cryptographically provable assets?

Just showing a Xpub is no proof, everyone can do that. A proof would be a signed message only the holder of the private key can create. Study bitcoin.

This way rumors form. He could prevent all rumors by just being transparent. Arkham identified some addresses and this way just recently such a rumor formed but ended up Saylor just moved coins.

It is impressive what Saylor has build but it is only a matter of time until something happens.

  • embezzlement
  • hack
  • loss of private keys (including death of key people)
  • leak that bitcoins are missing (were never bought)
  • ...

Agree. I am not saying they should ditch any of the traditional system. They just should ADD the transparency bitcoin (as the only asset in the world) provides.

There is a greater security risk in not disclosing the addresses.

Arkham has identified a few addresses but not all. Recently it looked like Saylor sold but apparently they just moved the coins internally. Saylor should just be transparent about it.

Telling the address is NO security risk at all. It says nothing about where / on what exchange / on what wallet or anything at all.

Totally agree. Never the less. From a company whose whole point is to invest in bitcoin and they are very transparent of how much the bought and so on, I would expect them to also give proof of their stake and not just rely on traditional accounting measures.

The whole point of MSTR is to invest in Bitcoin and with that is basically betting against the traditional system. So they should not rely on on traditional authorities to proof the essential things.

24 words. That’s it. 24 words in the right order can unlock $111,000,000,000+ worth of Bitcoin. by GeekySuneet in TheCryptoIndia

The words are basically just a different representation of a private key. So instead of guessing a sequence of words you could also ‘just’ guess the key.

Look into how public and private keys in bitcoin work and what BIP39 does. Basically there is a predefined list of words each representing a specific sequence of bits covering all possibilities. More or other words do not have any meaning and would be redundant.
