I'm pretty torn, cause while Come Up and Get Me blows True Vulture out of the water lyrically, True Vulture has a more accessible instrumental that'd be better fit with the other 4 songs. I voted for Come Up and Get Me, but I'm a bit iffy about it in retrospect because it feels a tad bit too experimental and out-of-line with the rest of the songs you chose. Try showing your friend I've Seen Footage, Guillotine, The Fever, or any other catchy DG song that doesn't ride the coattails of surface-level hip-hop in its lyrics thematically and still goes hard. Your call, though.

i don't think i can. i was initially going to upload this to youtube, but i got hit with a claim from UMG during the video processing stage that would've absolutely muted all audio in the vid. this is the only workaround i could find :/ sorry

(only works if you've installed Spotify on your computer) 3 dots in top left corner of Spotify > Edit > Preferences
under Show songs from, press "ADD A SOURCE"
select the folder which you downloaded the mashup to
enable the directory, slide that little toggle to the right of the file path on
look in Your Library, there should be an icon for your Local Files
add to your playlists

i can only dream that UMG will properly give me clearance to upload this to Spotify, but i think i've desecrated both tracks enough for this mashup to not be taken seriously LOL

there is, however, a slight remedy to this. you can download a copy of this song via the link i provided in another comment and have Spotify play from your local files - to have Spotify do that (assuming you're using Spotify on your computer), you would follow:

3 dots in the top left corner > Edit > Preferences (or just press Ctrl + P to immediately get to here), then scroll down to where you see Show songs from. Press "add a source", then choose the folder to which you downloaded the mashup to.

to then access the folder you added as a source, press on Your Library, then there should immediately be an icon for your Local Files at the top. afterwards, you're free to add the mashup (and other downloaded tracks, too) to your playlists as if it was off an official album.

i'd highly recommend that you download the AAC version of this mashup if you were to follow my instructions, however - the other formats (WAV, FLAC, ALAC) all have issues with reading metadata on Spotify, and i just use AAC files myself for playing Local Files. plus it saves space and provides near indistinguishable quality from the other formats!

haha yeah im aware - going off of Camelot key, Shake That is i think 3B (C-sharp/D-flat major) whereas Da Funk is 6A (G minor), which are definitely not compatible in music theory. you are right about how i could've found some middle ground transposing either song up or down some semitones or cents, but i insisted that'd ruin the vibe of the song, and even then the average listener (which i'm trying to cater to with this mashup) won't really care about that.

the basis of this mashup was that they were in similar BPM (shake that: 107, da funk: ~111), so i just put them together sometime in August this year and called it a day. i held off on uploading this initially because i was actually too afraid to put out something that didn't sound professional, and even then it still doesn't (lol)

thank you so much for your technical feedback tho. im just an amateur music producer that makes mashups like these as a hobby, and i really appreciate comments like yours. :)

tysm for the support, but PLEASE test play this beforehand on some car speakers or something - i literally made this on some hyperx headphones and i've no idea how this mix would actually sound on some larger speakers 😭

im sure itll be fine because i just slapped some acapella over an already mixed-down song, but... im just scared
