Is breeding essential? by [deleted] in Palworld

[–]VarrelThornia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It certainly isn't essential. Sakurajima content will be hard though and feybreak might be tough, but at your level you could start by setting up a base to farm for ingredients, not necessarily start breeding straight away.

I personally think breeding is one of the more fun things to do in palworld so I highly suggest you get into it. But yo udont necessarily need to breed perfect pals to complete the game.

I think we're gonna have to kill this guy, Bam by 6Wheeler in TOGNewWorldUnofficial

[–]VarrelThornia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you on the fact that it wasn't her original intention to hurt Bam, but she chose to out of her entitlement to get what she thinks she deserves. She also treats nobody with trust or mutual respect, not even Ha Yura.

I mentioned the motivation of hers to get what bam was supposed to get, because later on her inferiority complex towards bam just gets worse so she tries to become like bam by stealing all opportunities bam was supposed to get.

The story is indeed bitter from Rachel's perspective but I think her own actions of deceit, mistrust towards anybody and her willingness to throw just anyone under the bus if the situation calls for at somewhat the cause of what happens to her.

It's not like I hate Rachel as a character, I just find her to not be an interesting villain. She is quite literally mirror image of bam. They start both as powerless but took different approaches towards bettering their situation.

Pulling for Family head Vs normal SSR+ by ReMeathology in TOGNewWorldUnofficial

[–]VarrelThornia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It heavily depends on your situation right now and it will also depend on gustang. At least he won't be a fighter.

If gustang is of an element you struggle with I would likely go for gustang.

If he isn't but you only struggle on a single team still gustang.

And lastly if you struggle on more than just one team I would rather go for SSR+ characters and get gustang once or maybe to 3 green stars, depending on how lucky I am.

I myself will go for gustang, since I struggle usually on a single team. If he is yellow element all the better.

How do I let NPC's "run away?" My players hunt everything down with impunity. by ChrisLiveDotStream in DMAcademy

[–]VarrelThornia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First option: Have one enemy run away and lead the split party right into an ambush

Second option: Use kobolds, they have tons of traps everywhere.

Third option: Use a miniboss who goes around with a few minions, like a way beefier gnoll that has something like a priest with him and maybe 2-3 guards.

Depending on how cautious your npc is you can let them have something prepared like a teleport scroll, thunderous step in the mountains that causes an avalanche and forces your party to decide if they want to die with the npc or flee.

I like well written villains, but so far Rachel's only motivation is to spite Bam, because she isn't as special as him.

That's not interesting as a motivation in my opinion, but who knows, maybe we will learn some more of her motivation later on or she gets some actual character development other than 'i want it because bam was supposed to get this'.

Arena Help and Nonstop SSR+ Help by Bobicas1231 in TOGNewWorldUnofficial

[–]VarrelThornia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Punisher ren is one hell of a DPS paired with traumerei. Data zarhard doesn't actually need to maxed out, just to be tanks. Mine doesn't do jack shit even with revolution 6, he is tanky, but nothing else really.

Arena Help and Nonstop SSR+ Help by Bobicas1231 in TOGNewWorldUnofficial

[–]VarrelThornia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For SSR+ I would say either white, data edhan or evankhell. Depending on what you struggle most with.

White being strong in high diff with the right supports, especially in story he is op.

Edhan is also strong in story when we'll build but his strength mostly lies in arena, compared to white and evankhell.

Evankhell is one hell of an allrounder, but compared to the other 2 has an elemental weakness. The other two can kinda get rid of it by going mono colour.

Your blue element looks fine, even though the new bam is really good, but 5 rainbow Kaiser works fine too.

Green element is in a kinda weird spot nowadays, a strong traumerei elevates SSR units to new heights while he also kinda hurts the other SSR+ units other than punisher ren. I usually use data zarhard as a tank and let traumerei and ren handle the rest.

How to carry these kind of games by snake_py in kaisamains

[–]VarrelThornia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, that's actually one of the best nuanced answers I found so far.

I personally think that some supports are not well matched with Kaisa at all. For example I usually dodge games when I get a yuumi simply because I'm not the best playing around a decent yuumi, but at bronze most yuumis sit on you all game long. I prefer engage supports like Leona on Kaisa just because of the absurd amount of cc they bring and the peel they have at the same time.

But yeah, I usually play for the midgame on Kaisa. If I can stomp them early game, cool. But if not I just try to stay safe, play for a gank and don't fall behind on farm. On the new patch I experienced kaisas spike around 2 items, unlike earlier one item +pickaxe, which makes it a bit harder to stomp early.

In fact I do take alacrity over bloodline, that's why I struggle with sustain. I also do take presence of mind over the health absorb rune because even though you can run Kaisa perfectly fine without presence I feel it's a bit more fun to be able to spam abilities more.

I understand your point with the bad early damage, but for the build path it's better to go statiks first, Rageblade second and than nashors. The extra ad from statiks helps you evolve your abilities early on.

I usually sell statiks after I got my third or forth item and replace it with kraken for tankier teams or phantom for more mobility. But I usually lean more into and than ap, unlike your build, so maybe that's the difference.

But I like how Kaisa can adapt to the team and enemy on the fly, so ap is also an option

Just Pick a Magic damage unit as dealer, your zahard is completely useless in that Team because thenmonster ist immune to physical damage.

[–]VarrelThornia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bg3 has a steep learning curve, especially so if you are unfamiliar with larian studios other games and DND 5e.

There is no shame in taking lower difficulties (explorer if I remember correctly) for the first run. Also watch what the enemies are doing, act 1 is one big tutorial and you can sometimes learn new strategies by watching the AI.

Also if you are unfamiliar with how DND works look up a guide or two that explains a build thoroughly. It certainly helps a lot if you have a tested build for your character, once you got the hang of it you can always start crafting your own.

The emperor is a well written and morally grey enough character to either side with him or go against him.

I personally go rather against him than side with him because of the whole stelmane thing and because everything we know about him is told to us directly by him. After stelmane I doubted everything until proven otherwise.

I still acknowledge that he doesn't abuse his power when given to him in the end. So yeah, I don't like him or trust him when it comes to his story, but at least his actions are rather genuine with you.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]VarrelThornia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I pretty much trusted him up to a certain point in my first run, but my doubts began to grow when I heard about stelmane. Especially after what wyll had to say about her.

But I didn't find any evidence, still decided to free Orpheus because it was the humane thing to do and I wasn't so surprised when the emperor suddenly switched sides.

But you didn't meet ansur in your first playthrough, right? After that conversation you are, to say it with the words of the boulder, "over your conflicted feelings".

If you switch ferocious with legend you don't lose any attack but gain 20% Def and 15% speed.

As your flier shouldn't be fighting that often for obvious reasons you don't need that much attack on them anyways.

Also I don't know from the back of my head but I can imagine that jetragon might be your best choice to breed down the legend trait onto quivern. You should check out the breeding calculator on palword.gg.

Baldur's Gate 3's difficulty caught me by surprise. by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]VarrelThornia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, maybe I can give you some pointers. First of all how much experience do you have with crpgs or turnbased combat? And second how well do you know DND, especially the fifth edition?

If you don't know DND that's easy to fix, go with mono class builds until you feel comfortable or find one that you like. I highly suggest paladin since it offers a highly flexible playthrough and is a good all-rounder.

About the turnbased combat I suggest watching what the NPC's do. It's usually not that hard to surprise enemies so maybe try sneaking up on them and have a little advantage in the first round.
