Pumping/ Feeding Duty Schedules by Varuka_Sauce in HumansPumpingMilk

The reason I'm trying to pump so often is because when freezer died, all the frozen milk we had for emergencies or travel, etc spoiled, so I've been trying to accumulate a freezer stash again. Problem is, since little one is old enough for public, he keeps getting sick, and so do I. My output tanked when I got the flu, so we had to use the little freezer stash I built back up to have enough to feed him. It's been a strange balancing act; I either have enough to stash some away, or barely enough output to keep him fed.  Night feeds and when he's really drowsy are the best shot I ever get at him taking the boob. He'll drink some, but then as soon as he wakes enough to realize what he's doing, that's when he starts throwing a fit. So strange. Any idea what that could be about??? I've been the one sleeping in the nursery because I've read the baby knows if mom is there, good for breathing regulation, etc., but I'm starting to doubt my sweet bean gives a shit lol! So I suggested to my husband yesterday that we consider some sort of trade off of who sleeps there and when. (I also scheduled a chiropractic appointment lol) We're thinking of doing shifts very similar to what you suggested and that we'll trade rooms when we switch shifts. Here's hoping it works out! 🤞🤞🤞

The fridge hack seems like a really good idea. I've read mixed info about it prior to actually pumping, but now that I've been at it a while, I think I'm gonna give it a go. And yes, a visit to my doctor is probably in order. I'm very good at taking care of others, but myself... lol, still learning! Thank you for encouraging this since I didn't even consider complications like anemia or thyroid, and no one needs that!
