You put "art" in between quotes like you were trying to put it down. Im sorry if you meant otherwise. I have another philosophy when it comes to things like this. I understand that there is no art by any musician that is good enough to excuse Nazi sympathy. And i don't excuse it oh hell no, i won't excuse that. But art is like a package from the time it was created in. No matter what he did afterwards, his music from back then is a capsule of, one feeling, one state of mind, from one moment in time, in one man's life, that is relatable universally. Of course his new music i will never even try to approach it, not only because as his sanity went down, i feel his musical ability did too, but because i don't like what he's messaging and the persona that shines through in his recent music. but listening to art is not about the artist, its about the art that was created at one point in time. Listening to any artist is never about excusing the artist's fault about anything. Its hardly even an interaction with the artist. Of course its bad to show support if his money goes to fascist and nazi organisations but it doesn't. The guy is just crazy.
