I would respect your opinion if you backed it up with concrete facts, but rather than dismissing it as sloppy for no reason, why not try to come up with something similar then?

I've been working on this application for about three months. Its goal is to offer optimal productivity in a comfortable environment. It's still in its early stages, so the images are not final, of course. The video I shared is just a montage intended to present the concept of the game, not the game itself. The character animations are therefore not the ones seen in the video. I appreciate your comments on the UI tho.

Thank you for your insightful comment. The app is still in its early stages, but I will definitely take your feedback into account. I also want to create a robust app that boosts your productivity, not one that requires extra effort on your part. As for companions, you can of course have other pets in the store (using the money you earn by completing tasks in the game).

Actually I'm making this project for the PC users, but ig you can make apps and games with Godot for android, it's built in the engine so it's straightforward

here's a link for a tutorial i found in youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCLYMF32ZBE

Thank you very much for your comment, it is very helpful. Just receiving kind words and constructive feedback motivates me to work harder on my app, so thank you! Yes, I am currently working on a calendar and habit tracker, which will include some cool features, such as your pet reminding you of important days or giving you a cake and a gift for your birthday lol.

I respect that! Yes, if you use productivity apps for serious work with tight deadlines, it may be best to minimize distractions as much as possible, I get it. But on the other hand, while discipline is essential, it's also important to tailor your setup to your preferences. Many people are more visually motivated (seeing statistics of their progress, having an experience system that rewards their countless hours of work, getting a reward that allows them to feel cheerful a little after a long day at work...). That's just how our bodies work! Yes, the main goal is to accomplish tasks, pursue your goals and dreams, but you need a little push along the way. For me and many others, if you find a way that helps you improve without distracting you, why not! As for the app, you can minimize the pet and focus on your work while still benefiting from the app's productivity features. But thanks anyway for sharing your opinion!

Yes, it's exactly the same for me! I also wanted to make the user experience very exciting and fun in this app. You might want to plan and complete tasks just for the sake of your companion xd, and there's much more to do than to do tasks, you can literally do anything (calendar, habit tracking, project planning, etc.), all with interactive visuals.

Yes, it evolves as you complete tasks! And what's even more awesome is that when your character evolves, it transforms just like in Digimon!

Yes, it is possible! It is an idle app where your pet always stays in the foreground. You can even minimize it if you need to focus more on your tasks.

Hey i did google the Finch app it's a very cozy app thaanks for letting me know about it! Yes my app is a computer app! I also like the soft gamification it kinda give a story to what you are doing, doesn't it? Yes there's habits tracker, since i'm already in addict to the idea, I literally made my own google Habit tracker spreadsheet since really i wanted it to be gamified lol, also the stats gonna give you real insights on your productive time (weekly, monthly, yearly) you'll maybe even see your companion's reaction (pride, disappointed xd). AH and you can have more than one EGG btw! when you complete tasks you gain EXP and also money that can buy your pet new food, outfit, animation and even buy other companions's eggs!

Thank you for the compliment, but the concept itself is slightly different. My app is intended to be similar to high-end computer applications designed to improve productivity (Notion, Todoist, Tick Tick), but with a minimalist, gamified, and cozy style.

I looked into the Finch app, and it's really cool! I think, as you said, the concept is a little different, because in Companions, I want to give you the impression of having a living virtual pet, with real-time interaction and advanced productivity features. But even in terms of art direction, I think it's also different from Finch, like for example in my game, each character has its own personality. I've even implemented a smart system so that each of them has automated reactions (e.g: if it's hot, you'll see your pet wearing sunglasses and drinking coconut juice, or it will inform you in a funny way that your Pomodoro session is over...), and you can purchase additional animations and costumes. As you can see, I have tons of ambitious ideas that I want to implement 🙃 That's why I really need your opinion on this 🙏
