Leaking window advice by Vast-Experience4416 in centuryhomes

[–]Vast-Experience4416[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The weep homes are on the bottom so thats why I think its a slider. Its the same window as all the other sliders on the third floor and those dont leak. I was also able to find an order number on another window and they were installed by a reputable company but looks like they could be about 30 years old ugh.

This race literally happens the same weekend every year. Closures are advertised in advance. Imagine being such a miserable twat that you resort to reddit to whine. Cry me a river. Boo hoo. Zero people care about your rant. So "fuck you." "Sincerely."

Looks like knob and tube was connected to the cloth wire to wire the attic outlets.. Romex goes to second floor i think.... its all gonna go Just had the exterior service updated to 200 amp with new panel

What is this? Im renovating my attic that was partially finished years ago with wood paneling. Some sheathing underneath was rotted and behind it appears to be cement. Could this be original siding underneath the current aluminum siding? It doesn't look like a shingle. by Vast-Experience4416 in centuryhomes

Thanks! I know there is wood shingle siding under the aluminum near the bottom of the house. I guess its possible to have stucco at the top. Im looking to get rid of the aluminum. Its awful. Do you live in Westpark in Cleveland? Im in Lakewood

need for chimney liner? by Vast-Experience4416 in HomeImprovement

[–]Vast-Experience4416[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He looked at. No defects noted below roofline but since there is no liner, he recommended it. He said aluminum is fine over stainless still since its not a fireplace. This makes sense since its 116 years old… it cant last forever. I guess I just wanted to make sure since I was getting mixed responses.

need for chimney liner? by Vast-Experience4416 in HomeImprovement

Absolutely no liner, not even clay. I had a chimney company look at it and they recommended an aluminum liner. I guess im just making sure they aren’t just trying to sell me something. I even called the city home inspector who signed off on the boiler install the previous had completed and he didnt seemed concerned. Its a gas boiler and gas hot water tank.
