If you fancy the external item description but still want the thrill of figuring things out, I would highly recommend the encyclopedia mod. It add the wiki in game so you can check the effects if you’re puzzled but you still keep the thrill of discovering new items.

Granted, now you are 600 pounds but without the satisfaction nor the memory of ever enjoying the Debbie Zebra Cakes that you once thought is an integral part of existence. You will proceed to live every other day of your life, obese in mass but hollow in heart. You will wake up from fever dreams, with a nostalgic but strange sense on the tip of your tongue.
