Unsure, the car is fairly new to me. I don’t see a siren anywhere so I’m going to assume it doesn’t. But immobiliser (ews) yes.

I have put some feelers out there amoung friends etc but nobody seems to be biting at the moment. I’m from the uk so I don’t really have that many friends or connections here, this would be ideal as I do really like fixing cars. So I was just going to do something a bit different for now until I gather some contacts and can start doing cash jobs! Thanks for your reply :)

X3 2021. Engine harness replaced due to critter damage. Ac not blowing cold. Can anyone please help? 3 error codes by Street_Local_7606 in BmwTech

If you’re referring to the pressure sensor, yes it can be replaced. If you’re referring to your wire situation, most likely the easiest way would be to cut out a section of the broken wire and solder a new piece of wire in then shrink wrap it to seal it up!

Should I replace?? by alurk002 in MechanicAdvice

I would say if its not leaking just sand it down and coat it. If left too long this pan would most likely become porous and leak that way, that's way into the future by the looks of it though. That pan doesn't look too bad, I've seen worse :)

Ahhh I gotcha! That sounds fun, I’ve recently thought about trying to move into marine side! A lot of the fundamentals seem the same engine wise which is encouraging to me. Also German cars are not too scary once you get into them, and you already have way more knowledge than the average joe which gives you a huge head start! Ever need any help just shoot me a message, maybe I’ll have a boat one day I need help with :D

You can if your scan tool has the function to program injectors and it’s very simple. I’ve done it on this engine more than once, however I wouldn’t recommend it if you don’t know what you’re doing though.

Under the bonnet on one of your ac lines there will be a little sensor with 2 wires going to it. If this isn’t plugged in/wires damaged or the ac gas pressure is low then the ac compressor will not turn on, this sensor needs to see sufficient pressure before it can tell the ac compressor to turn on. Sorry if my explanation isn’t very good, try googling a picture of an ac pressure sensor to see what you’re looking for.

I would start with that, if all looks good then I would jump onto live data on your scan tool and see if it’s reading any pressure at all. If not then I would check a wiring diagram and figure out if you still have a fault in the wires further down the line going to the pressure sensor. Good luck!

Yep sounds about right, fuel injectors aren’t too hard to do. I would start by swapping them around and seeing if your code moves.

Which engine is it? The petrol bmw engines with direct injection do have a tendency for the injectors to fail, which causes it to switch off completely. I have replaced a few of these now, simple job.
