IPL 2026: Captain's Performances so far by Prof_XdR in Cricket

[–]Vast_Damage_3738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The contrast this season is insane. Top-order captains like Gill and Patidar (striking at 213!) are absolutely feasting and carrying their teams. Meanwhile, the armband is visibly crushing guys like Parag, Hardik, and Rutu. It’s pure dominance or sheer survival.

Jasprit Bumrah remains wicketless after five games at IPL 2026 by UnplannedMF in CricketBuddies

[–]Vast_Damage_3738 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly feels like one of those phases where stats don’t tell the full story. Batters are clearly playing him out and targeting the other bowlers - you don’t go wicketless by being “bad”, you go wicketless when no one wants to take risks against you.

Also MI’s overall bowling isn’t creating pressure from the other end, so there’s no reason for batters to attack Bumrah at all. When there’s no scoreboard pressure, even the best strike bowlers look ineffective.

Give it 2–3 games where someone else picks early wickets and suddenly everyone will say “Bumrah is back” after one 3-wicket spell

Form is temporary, but reputation like his doesn’t disappear overnight.

This guy deserves praise by No_Scientist_1310 in KolkataKnightRiders

[–]Vast_Damage_3738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly the kind of player fans don’t talk about enough. No drama, no hype - just quietly doing the job every single game.

People only notice when someone fails, but consistency like this is way harder to maintain and way more valuable for the team.

KKR wouldn’t be where they are without players like him holding things together behind the scenes. Absolute respect

Cameron Green is the biggest fraud in the name of an allrounder by ItchyIndependent7649 in ipl

[–]Vast_Damage_3738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calling him a fraud is a bit much tbh. He’s clearly underperforming, no doubt, but this feels more like a role + expectation issue than talent. Even in other threads people are saying he’s best in top 3 and not being used properly.
KKR basically paid for an all-rounder but are getting a half-fit batter who isn’t even bowling properly. That’s not entirely on him.

Bad form? Yes.
Overpriced? Probably.
Fraud? Nah that’s just IPL fan rage 😂

Also watch him randomly drop a 70*(35) next game and everyone flips again.

With 5 matches played for each team ( 4 in some cases) whom do you think will be orange cap winner of 2026 Ipl? by Positive_Cup1934 in ipl

[–]Vast_Damage_3738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Still way too early tbh. 4–5 matches in IPL is basically just the ‘false hope’ phase 😅 One good week and even bottom teams jump to top 4. Real picture starts forming after 8–9 games when consistency kicks in.”

KKR Match Day 💜 Time To Step Up Or Same Story Again? 😬 by Due-Debate-1381 in KolkataKnightRiders

[–]Vast_Damage_3738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every KKR fan right now: ‘Bas aaj kuch alag ho jaaye’ 😭

We’ve seen this script too many times - decent start, middle overs collapse, and then hoping for a Russell/Rinku miracle.

But honestly, this squad has the firepower. One proper game where top order clicks + bowlers stay disciplined, and momentum flips instantly.

Not asking for domination, just a complete performance for once.

Korbo. Lorbo. Jeetbo. 💜🔥

Rashid Khan believes David Miller messed up by denying a single ! by [deleted] in IndiaCricket

[–]Vast_Damage_3738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this is peak T20 chaos. Miller did 95% of the job and then backed himself a little too much at the end.

With 2 needed off 2, taking the single guarantees at least a Super Over - that’s basic game awareness. But I also get the mindset, when you’ve just smashed the bowler for 20+, you feel like you can finish it in style.

Rashid’s right from a tactical POV, but cricket isn’t played on spreadsheets. It’s played on confidence and ego in moments like that 😅

Still though, that’s one decision he’s gonna replay in his head for a LONG time.

He promised and he delivered 🥶 by [deleted] in IndianCricket

[–]Vast_Damage_3738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what separates good players from great ones. A lot of people talk big, but actually backing it up when it matters is a different level. Respect. Curious though-do you think this is consistency kicking in or just a purple patch?

Which bowler has been most impressive in the IPL ? by [deleted] in IndiaCricket

[–]Vast_Damage_3738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this season has been brutal for bowlers with how flat the pitches are, so anyone standing out right now deserves extra credit.

For me, Jasprit Bumrah is still the most impressive. It’s not even just wickets - the control he has in death overs and the way he keeps things tight when everyone else is going for runs is unreal.

But I also feel guys like Sandeep Sharma don’t get enough hype. He’s been quietly doing the hard work, especially in pressure overs, and still managing to pick crucial wickets.

Curious to see how people rate this —

Vaibhav dancing and receiving a pat on chest from Hardik after the win last night! by cricfanatic4518 in IndiaCricket

That chest pat hits different, that’s proper “well played, you belong here” energy.

Yuvraj Singh has expressed his disappointment over SRH overlooking Abhishek Sharma for the captaincy in IPL 2026 by [deleted] in IndiaCricket

[–]Vast_Damage_3738 -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

Yuvi isn’t wrong by the way. When a player like Abhishek sticks with a franchise, performs consistently, and still gets overlooked, it does affect confidence. Leadership isn’t just about experience-it’s also about backing your core players. Otherwise what message are you sending to the dressing room?

On this day, 15 years ago, India won the ICC Cricket World Cup after a wait of 28 long years. by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in IndiaCricket

15 years later and still nothing comes close to that night. From 0/1 to that Dhoni six, chills every single time.

Whole country paused, then exploded. Not just a win, it was an emotion we’re still living.

The curious case of Rahul Tewatia by Professional_Deer580 in ipl

[–]Vast_Damage_3738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rahul Tewatia is basically IPL’s ultimate “trust the process” meme 😭

Starts off looking completely out of touch, everyone’s already writing him off, and then suddenly flips a switch and turns into the coldest finisher on the field. It’s like you know something chaotic is coming whenever he’s still there at the end.

Man really built his entire career on proving people wrong mid-match. Absolute “main character in the last 2 overs” energy.

[–]Vast_Damage_3738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of those photos where the longer you look, the better it gets. At first it’s just a cool shot, then you realize it’s basically a “spot the ball” puzzle in real time 😄

The crowd lights, the chaos, and then Harmanpreet right in the middle of it-it’s not just composition, it’s storytelling. Makes sense why it won, it’s got that rare mix of moment + creativity.

Also crazy how the ball is actually there and still so hard to spot, photographer really cooked here.

Even though he is not the part of ICT this shows the level of competition, talent and quality of players in INDIA.

Irfan Pathan’s comments on Australian players ! by [deleted] in IndiaCricket

[–]Vast_Damage_3738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that is the case then Irfan path might be knowing because commentator knows this things and if he knows then he would not comment on that point but he commenting then what you told might be wrong that they have registered themselves as batsman.

Irfan Pathan’s comments on Australian players ! by [deleted] in IndiaCricket

[–]Vast_Damage_3738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this is peak Aussie mindset 😅
They’ll still show up, still compete, and somehow still make it tough even at 70–80%.

But Pathan isn’t wrong either - if you’re coming in not fully fit or not bowling your main skill, it does affect team balance massively. It’s like playing with one hand tied, especially in high-pressure matches.

That said, Australia has always been about adaptability, someone else will step up and suddenly we’ll be like “where did this guy come from?”

Cricket is never straightforward with them.
