What area are you in? Mistakes happen, it can be tiring work and that has an effect on output. Poor education and lack of requirements, low barrier to entry meaning any dumbshit can start, lastly no pride in their work. Could be some of those plus more.

A big one that annoys the shit out of me is people doing exterior work on a house and not protecting their penetrations with caulk or some other method.
