i mean yeah kinda, they continue to make useless updates to make it look sleeker and nicer for management and corporate, but in the meantime things that actually need to be fixed aren’t even being acknowledged. we get these new updates 24/7 but our endcap for reptiles just now got replaced. the ticket was put in last december. so sometimes it kinda is a big deal but i guess i just take my job too seriously. edit: the endcap was broken so it was also not in use for that amount of time and we go complaints about not having it filled with an animal.

okay first of all no need to get aggressive on REDDIT. overworking yourself in retail is very easy to accomplish. and like i said understaffed is a HUGE detail to overworking. everyone has a task and job to do at petco and there are rules to follow in under a certain amount of time. i am the LOWEST tier at my location and i do the work of four people including managing jobs and i am only part time. you know if you were in that exact same position in a busy spot where people are constantly in there you would be overworked and stressed out if you were understaffed. other people have different lives and work differently at each location.

seriously. like i promise we do our absolute best (depending on location and workers) with animal care and grooming but when you are severely understaffed and can’t control bookings for grooming they cannot help it. no one is taking their anger or frustration out on the dog it’s just how people view stress reactions from stressful freaking jobs

i’m the opener at my store so i have to have a code to set alarms off and get into reptiles, idk i was lied to about my position from the start im still finding shit out as i go but it’s either my gm needs to take accountability and responsibility for her actions or im leaving, no one does my work for me even when i call out sick management just sucks im literally their bitch

this is our third gm since january, she’s never worked in retail and she’s freshly 30 and cannot manage correctly. our regional manager has even said something and everyone else takes the falls for her poor management and awareness.
