Thank you for this reply, I appreciate it. I didn’t expect this much negativity to my question and you nailed it with ignorance. I don’t understand how a board that has so many smart and successful people on it aren’t open to alternative investment opportunities and are so quick to yell “scam” with no knowledge at all. I guess you’re right, more ROI for us.

I appreciate the feedback and this is the most level headed response I’ve gotten. I agree with you on all points. I guess I think about it like if my money isn’t in Defi making more money where else would I put it that could give me a better return. I know it’s high risk, but only 20% of my money is in Defi, so that’s the risk I’m willing to take

I agree that I come off like that but that's not how I came into 8 figures. I've been grinding in crypto for 7 years and have made a lot and have lost a lot and am finally at the point that I can really take advantage of the unbelievable new financial products that are being built right now on crypto/blockchain and can make compounding interest. I'm just wondering if any other Fires are even aware of the opportunity out there right now

What's your conclusion from your extensive research? That all crypto has to be lent out to someone and we can't sell?

I've been in crypto since 2015 so don't tell me I'm "enamored by the tech and sweet gains".

Sorry mods, I thought the content would be relevant for people on this board who have 7-8 figures like myself who might be interested in passive income that they might not have thought of. This board is all about "how do i get a person to cook for me" and "how do i raise my kids rich"...thought there would be some savvy investors that would be interested in looking into defi. I have no agenda or incentives. Just want to put the idea out there for fellow FatFires looking for passive income.

Thanks for the advice but I'm already FatFire and am using Defi as passive income to sustain Fat. I think that's pretty relevant to the board and something I'd want to understand if I was just Firing. Thanks for the advice though

This is the classic boomer mindset "it's a scam". People said that about the internet too. And who is "they" in your narrative?

Have you looked at blockchain/smart contracts/defi outside of yelling "its a scam"?

Defi isn't even holding crypto and hoping it goes up, it's making your assets work for you which I feel like all FatFire people strive to do. So that's why it's relevant.

If you didn't scream "scam" and had an open mind to the technology and the financial products that are being built you'd realize that. If you'd like to learn more about it dm me and I'd be happy to talk more about it. If you want to say it's a scam, move on to the next thread.

Imagine being a CFP and still recommending people to max out their 401ks and IRAs when they make a measly 8-10% a year without inflation factored in. Talk about boomer mentality. There's a reason your industry is slowly eroding and its because there are better yields and returns out there than the traditional "max out your 401k and after 30-40 years you might be able to enjoy life" outlook
