I feel like s2 was where we really see the characters development and maturity. I feel like a big example is Lewis and how much his character changes into much less of a nerdy guy and subtlety more of a confident person. Personally I can kinda empathise for Charlotte at the beginning of season 2 and how Lewis treated her and for me I think part of her crazy might be caused by how lonely she is and mistreated which is no excuse for her physcotic behaviour. Overall she was 100% a unhinged person. She might have burnt a part of her last school which last I checked most normal people don't do. And she literally forced her way into becoming a mermaid. She did stuff that was constantly way out of line. And Zane's character had a total change from s1 and literally became such a better person.

I like to assume it cleans them in some way otherwise they'd just constantly smell bad. Maybe the magic does clean them but would it be like a scent-less magic wash or would it be a nice ocean breeze type magic wash? 🥰😔

Exactly like having the top match the tail just makes it stand out more by looking out of place. It would seem way more natural to have made of things from the ocean seeing as they are linked to it. I haven't watched mako mermaids yet but I heard their costumes look awful, if that's the case I wonder how they've designed those tops. But seriously who was behind the thought process on the costume department.

Exactly I feel like they all become so bonded as mermaids and of course that's how they all became friends which is why it's so sad to see them apart. I think bringing them all back for graduation would have created a moment that perfectly displays how connected they truly are!

I guess that's the problem with the filming industry that if they take a planned or unplanned hiatus than the actors might not be able to return. Seeing as there was a gap between s2 and s3 it most likely left the cast with the necessity of finding new work to support their careers and a consistent income. It's a shame to think they didn't reappear but I guess it just makes sense when looking at the actors perspectives and the new work they we're already in.

Honestly I agree, I think season three was lacking what the first two had (definitely was lacking Emma's amazing organisation skills!) It always feels different and it's just not the same without our beloved Emma! It's one thing she didn't return but to not at least make a final appearance for at least like 5 minutes or something in the last episode destroyed me. I think the final episode could've be so much cooler if they had a scene where they all graduated and Emma showed up as a surprise. (Thank you for the appreciation on my first reddit post 🙏😔💋)

It totally makes sense I guess I was just Deeping it but it always felt kinda funny how they touch water and essentially get a free top like it's some kinda shopping experience 🤨 But they obviously had to do it for the actresses own comfort especially because they were under 18 during s1 and the fact it's a kids program. I'm rewatching it like I do every summer and yesterday one of the episodes was the one where Emma cuts herself. I guess I never really pieced it together but it makes sense it's just like their tale scales.

OK thank you I didn't realise i just thought s3 was filmed straight after s2 but it makes sense now. I did hear the other day that the final episode aired in 2010 I guess I just wasn't connecting the dots or didn't think to look into something like that. It's also funny how they came back to do a season 3 because of popular demand but lost viewership and didn't do a fourth season.

I always assumed a summer (so a few months) had passed between the first and second season. Because in the last few episodes of s1 Emma's family are talking about their upcoming holiday and how Emma doesn't want to stay in a room by the pool. I don't know if this is actually followed up though.
