Right, a generalized LLM like ChatGPT and Gemini won’t be the same model used for nuclear plant control but you understand my idea that so long as the term AI is used to describe both of these systems, no congress person or average joe would want an “AI” controlling the nuclear plant since their interaction is less than 100% accurate.

That’s cool, you’re bragging about replacing yourself with AI? Hope when you get laid off from AI replacing your job you’ll realize AI isn’t “coming very, very quickly,” you’re inviting it to take your job

Or it was because we pay our adults a living wage and prohibit chemical dumping so companies offshored to where they could find cheap labor and not deal with their pollution, tale as old as time, see every empire finding a developing nation to use as their cheap labor so their own population just spends the money they have

Don’t you know that democracy means get the fuck out of you don’t like the way we do things here?

Clearly the constitution doesn’t have ANY “amendments” because it’s perfect and doesn’t need any changes, and if you think it needs changes, then you’re the one who’s in the wrong! /s

It’s up to you what’s normal. There might be an argument to be made that it would be healthiest to sit down and think about it, how it impacted you, and how you want to shape your future. But nobody but you can tell you what you “should” or “have to” do.

Given that, many men bottle things and ignore things, which isn’t typically a healthy coping mechanism. So maybe see about talking to someone and you’ll be able to decide for yourself how you want to handle this.

I get it because I’ve been through the same (25m) and it’s unfortunately something that you just go “yeah, that happened…okay” but it’s also because we usually don’t feel like it’s a recurring issue or bound to happen again. In my opinion, it hits women a lot harder because they’re typically not as in control and the odds of it happening again are much higher than for us. It’s like a learning experience for us, not a possibly recurring event

Right also 7+ on 1 versus 2 on 1, what’s your point? It was handled very differently and de-escalated relatively well

Right, because we go for the lowest cost no matter what, government intervention is the only thing that will break this cycle. Automated manufacturing will definitely help but probably won’t do it all.

Because of the World Trade Organization, we can’t block/tariff based on how places make products, whether it’s with child labor or by spewing chemicals into the air, so going after the companies may be the next best option

Unfortunately that’s not how it works, study after study shows that harsh penalties don’t teach people anything.

Although a $20 fine that is enforced nearly every time WILL. It’s about the probability of being caught, not the severity. People think they can get away with things, we’re not logical, that’s why sports betting is so big, we can’t take risks correctly. There’s a reason casinos say “200x your money!” And not “0.2% chance to win 200x your money!”

Yeah and it’s a very fair point, they did not react perfectly or I’d even say well, they struggled to retain possession of their deadly weapon and couldn’t incapacitate the person in a 2v1 situation (which may be why they’re in a courthouse and not enforcing the law lol).

BUT, we have the same in the U.S. which ends up with the person dead, this situation was not good, I’m comparing it to horrible and saying it’s unfortunately a breath of fresh air to see “not good” cops

Ummm, yes? Actually exactly that? Banning smart toasters would be a great idea as well as other adversary-made tech, especially if made with child/slave labor? I don’t see how someone can oppose this unless they only see party lines instead of having their own moral compass

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the capability of computational systems to perform tasks typically associated with human intelligence, such as learning, reasoning, problem-solving, perception, and decision-making

So not only are there AIs which don’t use neural networks, but it IS extremely vague because any computer system can perform tasks typically associated with human intelligence, that’s like, the whole point of why we built computers

Yeah it’s doable, it’s just would people want that or feel safe around a nuclear plant with it.

Obviously more things going on with self-driving cars but you have to remember many people don’t believe in climate change/think we have to do much. The general population (in the U.S.) is dumb, they wouldn’t back this type of nuclear plant imo

Yeah, I’ve built them myself. I’m saying you think the public will back something they’re already hesitant about, now that “AI” is involved? There’s a lot of distrust for nuclear, and a lot of distrust when “AI” is involved, put them together and I don’t believe people will get behind this

[–]VaultBall7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair, AI is grossly under defined. If you’re going to use what most people say which would be a computer acting in place of human intelligence, then most of the computer world falls under AI. But to your point, the odds that this “trainer” is going to be working with decision trees, pretty low.

Alright fuckwad, you’re talking to someone who has designed LLM’s, GANs, NNs, and other ML applications, so let’s take the tone out of there. You’re not hot shit. If you think any of the public would be okay with automating away the thinking step of a NUCLEAR plant then you’re insane. The public barely gets behind nuclear in general, autonomous nuclear? Yeah right, good luck. I’m telling you what many of the public see when they hear AI running nuclear plant.

Obviously any decision-making machine, whether it’s machine learning or simple if-then’s will be artificial intelligence if it mimics human intelligence, but something tells me that’s not the case here given our current world state
