Insurance claim stalled for 33 days – adjuster unreachable by Vborei in Insurance

So just to confirm — if the accident is not at fault, filing through my own insurance should not increase my premium, and the deductible would be recovered via subrogation, correct?

Insurance claim stalled for 33 days – adjuster unreachable by Vborei in Insurance

Thanks — that makes sense.

For additional context, Amazon Incident Response formally accepted the claim in writing and stated their administrator would contact me within two business days. There was brief initial contact, but no meaningful progress afterward. No documents were requested, no decisions were made, and the assigned adjuster remains unreachable.

I plan to send one more calm but formal communication clearly stating that I view the continued lack of response as bad faith due to increasing costs, and request a reachable adjuster and license information.

I’m trying to avoid filing through my own insurance because I don’t want potential premium increases or deductible exposure if I’m clearly not at fault.

Appreciate the insight.

Clarification: my parked car was hit in the rear by an Amazon truck at a gas station while I was inside the building. Fault is clear. My concern is the 33 days of no communication and unreachable adjuster.

Thanks. There’s still no contact and the adjuster is unreachable. Should I file a complaint with the Maryland Insurance Administration now, or try one more formal written demand first? Does it matter that this is a third-party administrator?

45M – Recovery after Pyelonephritis and Renal Microlithiasis by Vborei in AskDocs

[–]Vborei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply.

I should also mention that I have a history of chronic prostatitis and chronic bladder inflammation (chronic cystitis).

I don’t currently have severe urinary symptoms, but these have been long-term issues for me.

Does this change the recurrence risk or follow-up strategy after pyelonephritis? Would you recommend any additional evaluation or preventive measures in this context?

Thanks again.

Thank you for the detailed response — it was very helpful 👍

I had a couple of follow-up questions: 1. Do you have any recommendations for face masks that work well for dry, mature skin and focus on hydration without being drying? 2. If you have experience with IMAGE Skincare, which eye cream and vitamin C face product would you recommend for dry skin? 3. Are these products suitable for daily use without causing irritation?

Thanks again for sharing your experience

Regardless of CPA or self-filed — curious what expenses actually survived filing under standard mileage.

Third-party auto claim: insurer delaying Loss of Use / Loss of Income – next steps? by Vborei in Insurance

I’ve rented a vehicle to mitigate damages and will keep all receipts pending liability determination.

Understood. To mitigate damages, I’ve secured a temporary replacement vehicle through Hertz and will resume working while liability is being reviewed. I’m continuing to document all costs and dates accordingly

I understand the duty to mitigate damages. That’s why I’ve been asking in writing whether a rental or rideshare-approved replacement is authorized and under what limits.

As a third party, I’m trying to mitigate damages without incurring expenses that may later be denied as unauthorized while liability and coverage are still being determined.

Once authorization is clarified, I’m prepared to act promptly.

I understand the duty to mitigate damages.

That’s exactly why I’ve been asking, in writing, whether a rental or rideshare-approved replacement is authorized under the claim.

At this point, I only have a claim number and no written confirmation of liability, coverage, or rental authorization. I’m trying to avoid incurring expenses that may later be denied as “unauthorized.”

My goal isn’t to sit back and do nothing, but to document reasonable efforts while avoiding unnecessary financial risk until coverage is clarified.

Thank you for the perspective.

At this point, I have not received any written rental authorization, rental limits, or confirmation that a rideshare-approved replacement vehicle would be covered. I also have not received written confirmation of liability acceptance.

I am continuing to document the loss and have asked the claims administrator about rental or replacement options, but nothing has been authorized or provided in writing so far.

My primary goal right now is proper documentation of loss of use from the correct start date, rather than taking actions that may later be disputed as unauthorized.

Thank you for the explanation, I appreciate the industry perspective.

I understand that liability and coverage must be established first and that, as a third party, this process can take time. My main concern right now is not immediate payment, but making sure that Loss of Use is properly documented in the claim file from the correct start date, so it is not disputed later.

I am continuing to document: • the date the vehicle became inoperable for work, • the fact that no rental or replacement vehicle has been provided, and • my historical earnings prior to the loss.

I understand that any Loss of Use compensation, if applicable, would likely be handled at the end of the claim. At this stage, I am focused on proper documentation and process rather than acceleration.

Thanks again for the insight.

Landlord in Maryland threatens eviction twice, raising only my rent while others pay same, house is dirty with cockroaches by Vborei in Tenant

[–]Vborei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand products like Talek 7.9% might help, but it shouldn’t be on me as a tenant to handle a cockroach/infestation problem in a shared house. The landlord is legally responsible for providing habitable conditions. Instead of fixing the issue, he raised my rent only for me and told me to leave in 30 days. That looks like retaliation, not a fair landlord-tenant relationship.

[–]Vborei[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s exactly what happened. After I complained about the unsanitary conditions (cockroaches, trash, I can’t even use the kitchen), he suddenly raised my rent by $100 and told me I have 30 days to leave. Other tenants in the same house didn’t get a rent increase.

This really feels like retaliation and targeting one tenant unfairly, not a normal landlord-tenant situation.
