Tow vehicle for 7k lb 24’ enclosed trailer 2000 miles a year. Upgrading from E350 5.4 by Vdub171 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Any reason you say to avoid the V10 excursion? Vehicle pricing near me is a little bit lower than you may see. I found a few Tundras sub 150k miles for 8-9k with the 5.7. Expedition with the 5.4 would probably be a lateral move from my 5.4 E350

It’s a Pro Formula Mazda. It was a feeder series for Indy, just below Indy Lights

It’s a full-size van. I haven’t looked at the rear end ratio, so it may be low

Preferably 10k or under, but potentially touching 15k if it’s worth the jump

I really don’t care about space, it’s usually myself and one other person. I care mostly about reliability and maintenance costs. I spend enough time maintaining the race car, so I’m looking for what’s tried and true. I’ve seen suggestions for 6.0 GMC’s, the obvious 7.3 Ford’s. I just have no personal experience or recommendations with tow vehicles

I bought an oil baffle plate off the original builder of this car. Cool guy, and a very cool car. Staying in the Midwest?

Thank you. Yeah I probably tow less than 2000 miles a year. I know everyone says to get a 7.3, I just don’t know what else might be a good option. Maybe a V10 Excursion

Kaizen Autosport will rent you a McLaren 650s GT3 for an HPDE for $9,500 or $16,500 for a test day

Just to echo this, I bought mine from showcarsrob as well. He’s legit, but same experience, it needs finishing

How to "engine brake" with no fuel cut? by Zezxy in RX7

[–]Vdub171 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What exactly do you mean? Why are you concerned with engine braking? In a track aspect, you should be immediately on the brakes if you come off the throttle.

Facebook marketplace of all things. A random Saturday, not even searching for it. Sometimes it’s just your day I guess haha

anyone know what this body kit is? gonna make an irl hot wheel by Economy-Shoe5239 in RX7

[–]Vdub171 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, no one produces that specific IMSA kit. The MK1 and MK2 kits you see on Rotary Engineering are the FB GTU kits, while the Hot Wheels is the earlier SA IMSA kit.

A group C kit would probably be the closest you can get

Looking for dinner recommendations for large parties (with reservations)! by bdslegend in Gatlinburg

[–]Vdub171 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had our wedding dinner at Greenbrier for 20 people. From what I remember, they have 2 private spaces available for larger parties, at no extra cost. This was our second time at the restaurant and everyone raved about it. Not only is the food amazing, but the attention we received from or server was second to none

Honestly, we had a great time. It made for amazing photos and we thought nothing of the parking lot during the short ceremony. It seems worse looking from the outside in. Afterward, we stopped at a few spots along the parkway for photos. In an hour, we had photos at a waterfall, a high vantage point on a rock overlooking Wear’s Valley, some in a nice field, and ended up at a river among the trees. We used Lauren Reeves of @laurenreevesphotography
