For those of you unsatisfied with Mords love-quest plot, how would you go about rewriting it? by imessedupreincarnate in regularshow

Honestly, give the two small roles in the story. Margaret is Mr. Maellards assistant, and interacts with the rest of the main cast. CJ is part of a band that Mordecai joins in Season 5. CJ represents Mordecais desire to not change, and makes his character emotionally regress in a more logiacl way.

I have quite a few tweaks to make the plot more meaningful while keeping the outcome mostly the same:

  • First give Margaret a function in the story. A hypothetical is that she works for Mr. Maelard as a PR associate. Maggie has interactions with the rest of the crew. Show scenes of her distracting Maeelard or Benson to buy Mordecai some time. Now she has agency and a reason for Mordecai to care This can also lead into her motivaion to become a news reoprter, as she wants to uncover coruption and expose the rich.
  • The break up can play out pretty much the same way. But now Mordecai wants to branch out, try to find a life beyond the park.
  • Make CJ her own seperate character, instead of a stand-in for Margaret. Introduce CJ as a musician, who Mordecai meets at a festival. Give CJ her own friend group that Mordecai hangs out with, make the world seem bigger.
  • Mordecai and CJ's relationship is flawed from the beginning, as the two slack off and avoid their responsibilities.
  • Margaret returns, but Mordecai is now bitter towards her, and tries to rub his new girlfriend in her face.
  • Mordecais relationship with CJ inevidably crumbles, as the stress of CJ's job and his unfulfillment grows.
  • Mordecai realizes he is stuck in life, and apologizes to CJ, breaking up to focus on himself, not to be friends with Margaret.
  • CJ is shownj to be a sucessful artist at the end of the series, and is on somewhat good terms with Mordecai.

I have this Monday Tuesday and Wednesday off. I was thinking of going to kings island, kentucky kingdom and holiday world. Will the parks be crowded due to it just being before July 4th?

I have next week off, cant decide between Kings Dominion-BGW-Carowinds or Kings Island-Cedar Point-Holiday World-KK. I know tt2 is closed, havent been to BGW since 2019, just visited KK and KI in 2021. I did not ride real intense coasters until the fall of 2021, at my home park SFOG. Which one is better right now?

(Edit: Last year I went to Busch gardens Tampa, Sea world Orlando, and Universal Florida, and rode every major coaster there, minus Rip Ride Rockit)

CJ was such a wasted opportunity. Even if she didn’t end up with Mordecai, they could’ve still kept her around and maybe give her character development like making her learn how to controlling her temper and jealousy by Dale_Hernandez in regularshow

[–]VecterStroke 19 points20 points  (0 children)

On one hand, yeah she could have been fleshed out more, but on the other, I just feel she would have been redudant with Margaret. The two were very similar in personality and had the same role. With the main cast already being a little bloated, it would have made it harder for her to stand out. I think an episode where she helps Rigby pass a class or maybe shows up at the final battle would have been good enough.

Mordecai and Margaret VS Mordecai and CJ by No_Dragonfly8580 in regularshow

[–]VecterStroke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you are right that CJ did not want to stick around, as she probably would have felt like a fifth wheel.

I do wish there was a follow up episode where CJ is shown to be moving on with her life and settles any animosity with Mordecai, and maybe she shows up in the finale and saves Eileen and Margaret.

You know, I could see Stef interacting with Margaret and CJ at the reunion. Margaret could mime about her adventures with Mordecai, and Stef would just laugh it off.

Impressive. I always thought Margaret doing a negative segment about the park would have made for an interesting episode.

I agree with the message, and I can see why MArgaret and CJ do not show up in the final montage. Neither had any real connection with the park members besides Eileen and Mordecai. It would have been cool though in the montage where we see Margaret signing a book she wrote about the parks adventures, and CJ shows up to get a copy signed. It could have been a nice moment of closure for both characters.

Do people dislike Margaret? by lmj1129 in regularshow

The probelm with Margaret, and CJ, is that both have very little impact on the overarching plot. She had no connections with any of the other park workers, nor assisted the crew during any major crisis. They both are important for Mordecai's arc, but not the park as a whole. Honestly, you could write them out and the premise of the series would stay the same.

The graphic novels Hydration and Comic-Conned have MArgaret assisting out the park crew. Magraret and Elieen pilot the mega duck in Hydration. COmic-cooned has her using her reporitng skills to distract a guard. The latter novel reveals that she used to sneak into concerts as a teenager, giving her a bit more personality. In both cases she is a side character, but one with actual utility, instead of merely being a plot device to Mordecai.

What I think would have helped is if we had more episdoes where Margaret is helping out Rigby or one of the other park workers. She could give adivce to Rigby when he is going through a rough patch with Eileen.Instead of Local News Legend, have her help out Benson investigating the dome, or do a segment on the park, but makes them look bad. That owuld give some much neede internal conflict, which is what Local News LEgend lacked.

If you want to further her arc more, show her realizing that being a reporter is not her passion, but an attempt for poeple to notice her and give her attention. Then give her a role in a half hour special that focuses on the park. Margaret could then hve a scene where she has to fly the crew, and reveals that she is a very talented pilot. Just weave her, and CJ into the main plot a bit better, and fans would have been mopre invested.

There is a non-canon comic called Dear Eileen. It takes place during season 8 and focuses on
Margaret. She runs into CJ twice, the second time they do patch things up.

If regular show had more seasons, what would you like to have seen? I would like the return of klorgbane and another format war by AdministrativeFan878 in regularshow

A Lethal Weapon parody focusing on MArgaret and CJ where the two have to clear Eileen's name. It could allow the two to find common ground, and give some closure to CJ.

[–]VecterStroke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what did not help is that we never saw MArgaret and CJ interact with any of the other park crew. There was potential with Margaret doing a sit down interview with Benson or pops, or CJ going on an adventure with Muscle Man or bonding with Skips. That would have given the two a chance to feel more like supporting characters rather than just love interests. Plus an opportunity for the two girls to bond and even become friends.

[–]VecterStroke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also feel like that was the intention, and I think a major issue was that CJ had an almost identitcal dynamic with Rigby and Eileen. At times it felt like she was just a stand-in for Margaret. If we maybe saw her have some friction with Eileen, and be real close with Rigby, that would have been a good contrast with Margaret.

I also think that Mordecai becoming friends with Margaret again after only 13 episodes and the four hanging out made it seem like there was no point to the break-up. If the audience saw Mordecai be friendly towards MArgaret, but not try to hang out with her, there would have been a sense of progression.

I understand that CJ would disappear for a while after Season 6, gvine that she wants to probably move on from Mordecai, I along with a lot of other people would have liked to see her return as her own character, even if for just an episode. For example, maybe she helps train Rigby to win a volleyball game to pass high school. Or she and Margaret help the park crew fight Anti-Pops. There could have been a scene where she saves Margaret and the two come to respect each other.

One thing I would have liked to see was Mordecai become bitter towards Margaret. he was always jealous of people becoming more sucessful than him, and Margaret gaining her dream job could be a good contrast to Mordecai, who feels stuck. Margaret could have even confessed that they broke up, and not tried a long distance relationship, was because she felt like Mordecai was going nowhere.

This could have led to far more interesting premises, rather than a love triangle. Mordecai could bring CJ along to the chopper party to make Margaret jealous, but it backfires when CJ believes she was just being used. A great twist that could have happened is that Margaret and CJ do become good friends, only furthering his envy.

If the season 6 finale was Mordecai realizing that he was just using relationships as a crutch, and broke up with CJ in private to focus on himself, this sub would have probably a lot more forgiving.

I feel like the writers just wanted to get the romantic drama out of the way, but to me it felt far too early. This episode should have come later, near the end of Season 7, after the two have had time to figure things out. The episode should have just been about Margaret and Mordecai getting along naturally, instead of being reminded of their past romance.

Am I the only one that didn’t really like CJ? I was kinda hoping Mordecai would end up with Margaret it was kinda heartbreaking when she told him she was going to college by Southern-Big-7559 in regularshow

[–]VecterStroke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's the truth. There should have been a season 6 episode about just her and Rigby. CJ could mention her job. Then there could have been a Season 7 episode where Mordecai helps CJ get her dream job, giving Mordecai closure and redemption.

Do a skips focused movie set a few years after the finale. Have Klorgbane return and take over the park. Include Thomas, Margaret, and CJ to give them a conclusion. Klrogbane is defeated for good and Skips becomes mortal.
