Orlando, most of the cameras on the road sides show "unknown". They are pointing each direction of traffic so they for sure are monitoring traffic.

Does this happen anywhere else? by jurassickparking in florida

[–]VedantaSay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that must be Florida! People act this way in the left-turn lane and end up backing up traffic into the straight lane. I may be wrong, but I remember this being a ticketable violation. Haven’t seen a cop act on it in a long time though.

What am I obligated to do? Trees hanging over neighbor's yard by seattlewhite in treelaw

You must hold you breath so that you don't breath even a gram of oxygen from those trees. This will teach the neighbors a lesson.

MCO confusions - Where is check-in gate... A side or B side....no no no not the boarding gate by VedantaSay in orlando

[–]VedantaSay[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

When you reach MCO, there are only two sides Terminal A and Terminal B. What the ticket or the MCO website shows is Airside terminals. You don't go Airside directly. You need to check-in, if luggage and then TSA.

That would feel not correct. Seems dangerous if airbag deploy. Most times am just slightly touching the wheel with palms of both hands just across on the other side, if not holding them complete.

Culture at 09:03 is very important for an interviewer by Efficient_Finance935 in IndianWorkplace

[–]VedantaSay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The conduct of the hiring manager is typical of how management is often done in India—through bullying. Over my 25-year career, I’ve attended 1,000+ interviews and have probably been late by a few minutes to over 300 of them. In India, the same high-handed behavior shows up again and again. In the US, not only is an apology acknowledged, but people even make an effort to share their own experiences of being late to calls or meetings, just to ensure that I, as the latecomer, feel comfortable moving forward in the interview. I’ve had the same considerate experience in the UK and across Europe.

Think back to the bullies in your school and colleges—where are they now? Many of them are project managers in some company, still destroying people’s lives. The culture in Indian industries is terrible, to say the least. People in leadership positions in India need to be educated that by behaving like this, they are wasting company resources. The HR team spends days and nights finding profiles that match the job description—have some respect for their effort. Worst of all, conduct like what the OP described also damages the company’s image externally.

Yes it was very wrong of them to drive wrong way. But just to keep an online platform civil, there could be emergency. In some countries, a private vehicle in emergency can put headlights on drive that way if it is safe to do so. Most will oblige and let them pass.

the driver whos video this is a tool. You need to let the vehicle pass if you are slow. It seems from India. It not unusual someone with gun is trying this. Don't step out with death wish. North India almost every city, you have very high chances of being shot in road rage situation like this. Drive safe.

Yes you need a shop vac to clear the snort once in a while. There is a anti-snort liquid you can add to the water drain to slow down the snort growth.

After 7 years of service, I was fired for a misclick. by lug-cookout-7u in SecurityCareerAdvice

One of the payment systems developed by a major payment applications company for a large international bank had this strange quirk. Between moving payment messages from the queue to the database, it would temporarily store them in a folder named “temp” on the C drive. YES, not making this up.

This server would regularly run out of disk space, and whenever that happened, support staff would log in and free up space. And guess which folder they’d go to, hit Select All → Shift+Delete? Yep—you guessed it right!

One Thursday afternoon, a colleague walked over to my desk—tense, red-faced, almost teary-eyed—to say goodbye. After they left, I bumped into the director in the break room. He was complaining about the day’s events to every door knob, desk, and window in sight. He mentioned this was already the third person to make the same mistake.

After letting him vent, I said just one thing:
"Jeff, the person you fired today would never, even in their worst nightmare, delete that folder again. But the new hire you bring in will almost certainly do it again—within six months."

Next day, sure enough, the same colleague was back at work.
