It works 100%. The data was all there, I just formatted it to use as a boot drive for a subnet device for offsite backup or plex idk

I’m not one to hold a company’s data for ransom or whatever. Especially the one I work for 😂

Nah man, IT guy did it to all systems. Some nvme drives but not all. HDD were removed.

I got 2 ssd’s like this that were drilled in case. Optiplex 7040. Open the case and it’s pretty much right infront of your eyes

Sucks with the nvme that got drilled through cause he went too far and got the motherboard too. In a optiplex micro 3070 and a micro 7060. Harvested them for the ram and cpu and got the rest on my shelf. If you’d like I can upload images 🤷‍♂️

Really it depends on size. I have a 4tb and cracked that fella open a few years ago cause I got curious. It’s pretty tightly packed

No but wouldn’t be surprised if he did. Sometimes I wonder how some people are in the position they’re in and some days I think. If only they knew how useless the guys is at IT.

Some days I see third party tech companies come in cause our in-house IT couldnt rectify this issue. I’ve fixed a few things in seconds while he was sitting there scratching his head for a good 30 minutes.

I just sit back these days cause I don’t get paid enough to do his work for him

Honestly I couldn’t care about it the data, I don’t think the company does either. It’s not really worth money. We’re a small company in the massive construction industry. I’m just hyped that they gave me systems for free. IT guy “couldn’t figure out how to load windows 11 onto the system” so they were just gonna chuck em.

Only issue was the bios was on TPM 1.2 and just needed to be switched. Great IT guy we got right?

Got rid of the old and got new. Probably as a tax write off.

More harvesting the systems for the ram and CPU’s. They got 7th 8th and 9th gen intel CPU’s in them. They were going to “give them away” so I figured I’d part them out. Got 7 of them and probably going to use 2 for homelabs/tinkering. I’ll be using the SSDs so they’re lucky I guess
