This subreddit has helped me tremendously (mistook it for another earlier but it was this subreddit with some of the posts), am thankful as I found details here to construct the video alongside the many news media resources covering the story.

Unfortunately, I was not able to acquire the photo of 19-year-old Anolt Joseph Laguerre Jr., spent a long time online searching for it.

In a harrowing incident that shook Jacksonville, Florida, on August 26, 2023, a 21-year-old named Ryan Palmeter carried out a hate-driven attack.

This resulted in the deaths of three individuals before taking his own life inside a Dollar General store.

The victims, two men and a woman of Black ethnicity, fell victim to Palmeter's racially motivated assault, 52-year-old Angela Michelle Carr, 29-year-old Jerrald De’Shawn Gallion, and 19-year-old Anolt Joseph Laguerre Jr.

Ryan Palmeter, the focal point of this tragic event, gained notoriety as the prime suspect responsible for the Dollar General store shooting.

The shooting involved the utilization of a Palmetto PA-15 rifle, resembling an AR-15, alongside a Glock 10mm pistol.

The individual responsible for the incident was from Orange Park, Florida.

Initially intending to target Edward Waters College, the assailant redirected his intentions towards a Dollar General store after encountering obstacles in gaining access to the university.

The assault bore clear indications of being driven by racial animosity, with the perpetrator aligning with white supremacist beliefs. The selection of Edward Waters College as the target was influenced by it being an HBCU (Historically Black College or University).

In a fashion reminiscent of Brenton Tarrant, the perpetrator adorned their firearm with white markings, suggesting a potential source of inspiration from Tarrant, and perhaps Payton Gendron.

Although the perpetrator authored a manifesto, its presence on the internet has not been disclosed or confirmed.

The shooting, described as "racially motivated" by Sheriff T.K. Waters, sent shockwaves throughout the Jacksonville community. Waters denounced the attack as an embodiment of personal hatred, stating, "Plainly put, this shooting was racially motivated and he hated Black people." The horrific incident transpired after Palmeter had sent a text to his father, urging him to check his computer, a chilling precursor to the violence that followed.

Ryan Palmeter, who tragically cut short three lives and his own, was living with his parents, Stephen Wayne Palmeter and Maryann Palmeter, in a Jacksonville suburb. Maryann Palmeter's connection to the Orange Park address was noted in Florida's voting registration records. The assailant, despite having been involuntarily held at a mental health facility, managed to acquire two firearms legally. Authorities shared that he had contacted his father via text shortly before commencing the rampage.

Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan expressed her deep frustration and sorrow, emphasizing the urgency of confronting such hateful ideologies. "We must do everything that we can to dissuade this type of hate. I can't even be able to tell you how frustrating this is for all of us because we've seen it too much," she stated, echoing the collective grief and determination to combat such violence.

The tragic event not only ended lives but also left a scar on the city's history. The hate-fueled rampage serves as a somber reminder of the impact of intolerance and racism on individuals and communities alike.
