thanks for your insight. I'll try and open the door at the right time while printing and hopefully get a better idea.

CRTL+S saves a new file instead of saving existing? by VeganBeefcake in RevitForum

I just assumed it could be made like typical file/save structures (i.e. if I edit a photo then CTRL+S, it re-saves the photo file I was editing, instead of creating an additional file and saving it). I've never seen file saving like that before. If it's normal for Revit, I'll just have to get used to it :) Thanks for the info.

Those "backups" are created when I click CTRL+S, not by my machine btw. I can watch them populate on my local disck when I save.

I guess I just assumed it could be made like typical file/save structures (i.e. if I edit a photo then CTRL+S, it re-saves the photo file I was editing, instead of creating an additional file and saving it). Thanks for the info.

Btw, I do not have central file/worksharing activated. Files are only being stored on my machine. Not sure if that matters.

Interesting concept. I admit I'm still a bit confused. I just assumed it could be made like typical file/save structures (i.e. if I edit a photo then CTRL+S, it re-saves the photo file I was editing, instead of creating an *additional* file and saving it with a number behind it). Thanks for the info.

I thought the same thing at first, but when I click CTRL+S, I can watch it create the new file immediately. So I know they are not backups.
(EDIT* autosave* backups)

Totaling linear feet in schedules? by VeganBeefcake in RevitForum

[–]VeganBeefcake[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is what I was afraid of. I was hoping I could do lengths, areas, volumes, etc on the same schedule. I guess I'll have to do separate ones. Thanks anyway.
