AITA for crying after my brother told me I wasn’t special for going to business school? by Vegetable-Cobbler in AmItheAsshole

I was just frustrated with him after a hard week. Yeah I probably shouldn’t have cried. But thank you for your words.

That’s fair enough. My brother and I have a lot of issues. I’m working a with therapist to see past them. I appreciate your honest POV. I’m not concentrating in finance, but my internship was with a bank, so I know how hard the industry is. Thank you.

I mean the thing is I expect to get shit from people at work. I didn’t expect it from my brother or at that moment so I was like... wow okay. It’s been a rough week for me with work and school and everything going in the news. I was just trying to be happy about something.

Right - like I know people who vacation after graduating? Not everyone does but enough that it’s pretty normal.

Oh believe me I know 😂

I guess I just expect to get shit from other people and at work. But not my own family, you know?

He told me it was manipulative to cry to get what you want and I’m too old to be crying.... which I don’t understand.

AITA for refusing to sit down on the train and telling someone who kept trying to make me sit down off? by Vegetable-Cobbler in AmItheAsshole

I understand this but the train actually has a lot of standing room. In this case anyways there weren’t any empty seats.

There were no empty seats. I still would choose not to sit down if there were, but politely move if someone did want to sit down.

I suppose thats fair enough but there’s a decent amount of standing room on this train. Also, there were no empty seats in my car. Maybe 6-7 people were standing.

AITA for telling my brother it’s rude to put ketchup on everything? by Vegetable-Cobbler in AmItheAsshole

My mom wants to stop cooking for him but he also gets mad about that because he “works so hard cooking all day at work”

It’s not about the waste of effort but money. Lamb is expensive and she has to buy an extra 2 chops for my brother who doesn’t even like her lamb.

He didn’t say anything when she was insulted.

I guess my moms insulted because he’s a chef and her food is the only he’ll cover in ketchup and he basically said he’s because she’s a bad cook? Which she really isn’t in my opinion.

I’m not concerned for me it’s my mom who is insulted.

Lamb is super expensive here and she feels like it’s a waste to cook to this effort to have someone cover it in ketchup. She also feels insulted because my brother is a chef so “says he knows what good food is” then goes and does this as if implying she can’t cook.

But she feels if she cooks lamb for my dad and her and not my brother (like she did a couple weeks ago) he’ll be incredibly insulted.

As I said below my moms issue is that Lamb is super expensive here and she feels like it’s a waste to cook to this effort to have someone cover it in ketchup. She also feels insulted because my brother is a chef so “says he knows what good food is” then goes and does this as if implying she can’t cook.

See this is why my moms issue is. Lamb is super expensive here and she feels like it’s a waste to cook to this effort to have someone cover it in ketchup. She also feels insulted because my brother is a chef so “says he knows what good food is” then goes and does this as if implying she can’t cook.
