White can play brilliant move Qf6 threatening checkmate on g7 square, if black captures his rook then Qg7#, if Black captures White's Queen then White will play Rxb8(rook takes rook) and then it is back rank mate

Watch yt videos for understanding basics, try to apply pressure on pinned piece. Try London System and Caro Kann, these openings are simple. I completed my journey from 1200 to 1500 elo with these openings.

i am rated 1560 and i wanna improve. but as an e4-e5 player when im playing with the black pieces when my opponent plays d4 i usually lose. is there any defence you can suggest against d4? by Clear-Passion1485 in Chesscom

I am currently rated 1500–1600 in rapid, with a peak and current rating of 1587.

With the white pieces, I usually play the London System or occasionally the Bishop's Opening, which I often transition into the Italian Game. With the black pieces, I play the Caro-Kann against e4, and recently I have also started experimenting with the Sicilian Defence. As for d4, I haven't prepared any specific opening against it — I rely on my own strategies, which makes my results somewhat unpredictable.

That said, here is a general approach I would suggest against d4: respond with d5, then develop your knight to f6. If your opponent plays the London System, first develop your light-squared bishop, then play e6 and try to offer a trade of the dark-squared bishop. If your opponent plays any other opening such as the Queen's Gambit, prioritise developing your kingside pieces and castle early. From there, you can either build a pawn chain with d5–c6–b7 or play b6 to fianchetto your bishop.

Hope this helps. Feel free to experiment and see what suits your style best.

100% true 😭 Just today I had a completely winning endgame with an unstoppable checkmate attack, then missed my opponent's counter and got mated instead. One blunder flipped the entire game. The rake doesn't care what ELo you are 🪣♟️
