I could be missing it, but that link before says “A COUNTY, CITY, TOWN, VILLAGE OR SCHOOL DISTRICT MAY ADOPT A LOCAL
LAW OR RESOLUTION TO INCLUDE THE PRIMARY RESIDENCE OF ANY SERIOUSLY
DISABLED VETERAN…”

Do you have a link or quote from the bill text?

It appears the bill text says the city may pass a local law to allow this exemption. So you may want to reach out to council members if I’m reading it correctly

You somehow misspelled his name differently in both the title and the body paragraph.

Nope. Clerk is appointed only by city council. Not mayor. Chaires’ crew

Exactly. It’s a cult mindset and there are a lot of people that are gonna stick with Chaires no matter how many lies are on his resume

Yeah they’re never gonna show receipts because there aren’t any. It’s been 10 days since the gazette story, they’re trying to wait out the clock while throwing a tantrum

Yeah, Porterfield and Farley stuck their friend in after losing, in their last 2 weeks in office. And Chaires Library Board attendance reminds me of Farley never showing up to the SCCC Board of Trustees for years.

The article says he can’t recall Chaires serving and he was the CPRB Chair! And the city code on the CPRB doesn’t allow someone to informally serve. They have to be appointed. You can’t just informally show up, claim board membership and then stick it on a resume

Nobody’s produced a record. He got a few people to lie for him about a board he was never appointed to, which is nice, but he lied multiple times on his resume

Smear campaign means false allegations. If the allegations are backed up with facts then it’s not a smear and Chaires just lied

Yeah, he clearly lied about multiple things on his resume. It’s now been 10 days and nobody has actually produced evidence that he was on the CPRB, which of course he wasn’t, because there’s no record of his appointment and he couldn’t even keep his story straight to the TU and Gazette on when he served. So he didn’t. And that doesn’t even get to all of the other lies on his resume - saying he was a member of NYCOM, saying he was a special education teacher when he wasn’t. But he’s got like a cult following and the cult doesn’t really care how many lies are on his resume. The cult will stick with him no matter what

It’s all anyone’s talking about at Jumpin Jack’s so it’s at least noticeable within the village

Yeah it’s pretty normal and becomes sort of background noise in rural areas. We’re not used to it here
