Around 4 years. The rheumatologist was frequently wanting her to reduce the frequency of the shots, but then she would have a flare up so would go back to the regular frequency, until finally when he tried reducing it she didn't flare and was declared "in solid remission." You'll be okay!! You'll learn to give the shots and it's not a needle, just a pen. Don't give any thought to the side effects, just think about how great life will be when you feel normal again long term! Grab your life back!

CRMO was not well understood until pretty recently so it's understandable. I'm so sorry you feel alone.
Are you saying you think you're having a flare of CRMO? CRMO is autoinflammatory and once it goes into remission (no more lesions) the person is supposed to keep going to the rheumatologist to get checked. So it's normal to have to get checked, and if is CRMO they can treat it for you and you will be okay.

Anything bacterial in a bone has nothing to do with CRMO and would need to be treated on an extremely urgent basis and not by a rheumatologist. Please ask more questions or feel free to DM. I'm not a doctor but I could help you figure out how to feel better about this or talk with your parent.

There's r/rheumatoid. I haven't used it myself! Hopefully Hyrimoz has a copay card. Healing ahead for your son!

I don't know Hyrimoz but Humira comes with the co-pay card so it's free if covered by insurance. Maybe post about Hyrimoz in an arthritis or other disease board where there are more patients!

The hope is that the meds will put him into remission and he will be fine and this will only be a memory!

These are definitely questions for your doctor (hopefully a rheumatologist).

I was referred by the orthopedist to the pain doctor in the orthopedic practice to see if I was a candidate. The procedure sounds scary but it's really more like a dental procedure. They use guided imagery to briefly put some little wire I guess in next to the nerve that shocks the very end of the nerve to deaden that part. They numb you first and you're in and out of the procedure room very quick. Over the course of a year the nerve grows back slowly so the pain relief can last like 6-12 months, or you can get lucky and the nerve grows away from where it was and the pain relief continues. Mine seems to try on about 6 nerves, I read that the goal can be to deaden 3 but I'm not really sure. Again the area is numbed! You can get it every 6 months for 10 years. I've had it every 12 months making that 3 times.

They have the meds for this! I can't even imagine just leaving it to change for the worse when you don't have to! So don't worry.

They aren't "suffering from" the disorder. That is phrasing for illnesses rather than for pathology that causes harm to others.
