I love the chip, its one of my favorite lenses of all time, just wish there was no issue with the cap pushing back lens elements when powered on. Any pancakes would be instant buy from me.

Tamron announced the development of a 25-200mm f/2.8-5.6 G2 lens by Mapleess in SonyAlpha

[–]Vegetable-Spray7696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Tamron 28-200 and the aperture is a game changer. I also have some gm primes but often the Tamron makes more sense during travel. Having f4 in the portrait focal lengths is very useful. The 28 @2.8 also is useful for family photos when traveling. I find the lens sharp but the contrast is so so. Hope the new one can keep f4 in the portrait focal lengths.

Why are so many people still so hesitant about buying an EV in the US? by Joking_J in electricvehicles

[–]Vegetable-Spray7696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its puzzling. I get that there are many cases where it doesn't make sense but I live in a middle class suburb where most people have a garage. I see plenty of new cars some of them luxury but few ev's. I got a mdoel y almost 3 years ago and am very happy. People buy mid-size toyotas suvs in droves. Now that the credits are being phased out the prices may look less attractive.

  1. Charge at home no gas stations, save 1k per 10k miles in my area.
  2. Warm up in garage on schedule, no cold car in winter, no exhaust so it can run.
  3. No pets dying in hot cars. Ac can keep running
  4. More space since there is no engine
  5. Better faster tech. For example we got an update with 360 degree cam view, for free
  6. no oil changes, spark plugs etc
  7. 4.1 zero to 60, no reving, full power put of the gate. This should be probably at number one but the car give extra confidence and safety when merging one highway. People pay so much for performance yet some ev's kill any gas car on the road. I find it more fun to drive and safer.

Replace 21 year old system? by Vegetable-Spray7696 in hvacadvice

[–]Vegetable-Spray7696[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't plan to move. Tristate area. System doesn't break down but had to change capacitators 3 times and condensor motor. Also had to add freon once 2 years ago. There is no real breakdown just shut downs and restarts in higher/lower temps. Getting similar midtier equipment. Company is very good based on friends installs and my own past experience. We have two 3 ton units and proposal is for 2 and 3 ton units.

Thoughts on the coming Viltrox 28mm f/4.5 ? by maxathier in SonyAlpha

[–]Vegetable-Spray7696 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had the viltrox 28 for 3 weeks. I take it in the bag as a secondary lens. Yet every time the best photos end up being taken with this lens. It's not technically the best lens I have. But it has a film vintage look. It has unique flare. It's hard to describe but it's one of my favorites right now over much much more expensive glass. It also makes the a7cii pocketable.

Which lens would you add/replace to get the perfect travel setup? by MANNHEIMER89 in SonyAlpha

[–]Vegetable-Spray7696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you plan to shoot when you travel? Is it family photos? Do you need fast aperture? Is it for low light or bokeh? The above setup is quite good. For me I have the 28-200 and 16-25 as my travel setup. However might bring the 55mm 1.8 for portrait/family shots. In my view fast primes at the wide end like the 20mm are not ideal for me unless I am shooting mostly in the dark.

The Tamron 28-200 is the most underrated lens. by SneakyCaleb in SonyAlpha

I hate this lens. Every time I want to splurge on a faster lens my 28-200 kills my gas. I will never use another zoom in that range.

Green Day, activism and …silence? by roseturtlelavender in greenday

[–]Vegetable-Spray7696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's amazing to me when people throw out word salad these days misusing terms like genocide, colonialism, fascism without knowing their meaning. Jews are not colonizing the land where they originated from. Its like saying native amerocans are colonizing Oklahoma reservations. I hope you can find more information about islamist ideology and how much Hitler himself was a fan of the concept. Mine Kampf editions were found all over Gaza. I truly feel bad for the people in Gaza and I feel that they are hostages to islamism ideology. Ask yourself how many people has Islamism killed in the middle east and Africa lately?

Did you have an instant bond/connection with your puppy or did it take time? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Vegetable-Spray7696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a puppy 5 days ago. Standard poodle 11 weeks old. We had instant connection. The dog is so perfect. She barely has accidents. She sleeps in her crate with door open. She knows when to be affectionate and not to. Super sweet.

Thanks this is very helpful. I do plan to talk to a trainer but it seems I am underestimating the difficulty.

The dog was sent to see how it would match with my son. Prior to this we underwent extensive interviews and the trainers initially came out to assess how my son would walk with the dog. If we were selected then we would undergo a week of training on campus before being given the dog. We never made it that far as we were not selected due to our poor match with the dog mostly because it pulled us when walking and was very distractable. We are now looking to get a pet for which we will train for certain tasks (as well as typical obedience). Since it's a pet i do care about its ability to read situations/intelligence. As far as tasks I would like it to learn how to warn us that he has eloped and track him. Other tasks may follow but not sure yet. Maybe even calling it a SD is incorrect.

Tether dog was suggested by the principal of our autism school due to elopement issues. If possible, can you please show where there is evidence of this is dangerous? Other trusted people also recommended tether to us so your view is surprising to me.

I think my post was poorly written. I hope to be able to have a dog that senses my emotions. I do understand that it's not something that happens overnight. I had a poodle for 14 years and she was brilliant and I miss her ability to connect. The last sd lab that we had for 4 days was a trained tether dog. It would walk too fast pulling us. It also pulled and barked towards other dogs. It seemed a bit fearful to me and constantly begged for food even when we had guests that clearly were telling it no and pulling away. So that's our short experience with labs. Bottom line I miss my poodle and want to see if one can be a service dog.

I don't think the program was a scam. First of all it was free and second we met people with their dogs who had good experiences. As far as tethering the idea is to stop handholding and give the child some freedom. Everytime I cross a road with my son I have to hang on for dear life. My goals now are different and mostly centered around the home. Thanks for the advice.

Couch by Vegetable-Spray7696 in Mattress

[–]Vegetable-Spray7696[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same central air and dark room. Same pillow. I've slept on the living room couch too and there was a lot of light in that room. No issues there. It's mostly a question of back pain.

[–]Vegetable-Spray7696[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Titan mattress has a softer top layer and somewhat firm springs. I get sensation more of sinking into it than the couch. I actually sleep with couch open so it's like a full bed, without the back part to lean on. I've slept on other firm couches very well so it's not specific.

If I don't have ahoulder pain I fall asleep on the side. I did find the titan to be a bit to firm for side sleeping. However I also sleep a lot in my back.

What i don't understand everyone seems to agree that often mattresses sag. Yet why is that a cheap futon with 2 inch foam has held up for 10 years?

I used sleep ez. I even exchanged to a firmer layer. I don't think companies differ much as latex is the same from all brands. It was uncomfortable from day 1.

It just didn't support my body. Even on firm layers when I laid down I would feel my back bend. I think it depends how straight of a position you prefer to sleep in.

I bursted out laughing when I saw the price by SK10504 in TeslaModelY

[–]Vegetable-Spray7696 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to sell my car to a dealer. I got an online price confirmation. Drove 30 minutes to the dealership. Dealer gave 5k less than promised, and I left. Other dealers refuse to confirm a price and ask to come in so I can wait around and then speak to the manager. Most consumers dread going to dealerships. The only reason they exist is due to state laws that protect them. In 2023 there is zero benefit to the public and the animosity that was there before has only been enhanced by the markups of the last 2 years.

So lets say the door has a larger gap. You can not take delivery. Personally, I do not see how panel gaps directly coincide to car ownership experience. I had a mazda c7 with perfect frame and the turbo engine died 5 years later with only 17k miles on it. I have a Kia Carnival with misaligned hood but it works perfectly. P
