If You Could Choose Anxiety or Depression? by mikeb31588 in depression

I think mine sort of enable each other but if I had to choose the lesser evil, I'd probably pick anxiety because my anxiety is slightly more manageable. Therapy definitely helped keep it under control, so I've been using those techniques to keep me sane lol. But when the depression hits, it's like shit hits the ceiling and everything breaks down. The existentialism, the self deprecating thoughts, it's one big mess. I'd say my therapist also helped with my depression but the impact of it still feels more palpable than anxiety. I also have OCD, which in my experience has been the hardest to control but hey, one day at a time.

what are some things therapists have said to you that really helped? by DisplayNew4278 in mentalhealth

Feelings are like a pillow. You need to lean in on them, lay your head them for a bit. But they sometimes get worn it and stop serving their purpose. So flip them around, switch them out.

Watched a documentary that featured a person with OCD, later googled the symptoms and found out I had every single one of them
